I think Radiohead is pretty tough to top…
I’ve always thought Lair of the Minotaur was pretty great.
Pooh Thompkins vs The Mata Hari
T and the Masters
I hate those guys.
What genre are they anyway?
How about a Millarworld band? Mark and the Millars?
They’d never make it out of the pre-gig party.
Electronic Folk Rap.
So Techno Flyting?
Its more like the beatles meets digitized farmyard noises.
But, like, cooler.
Flyting was, BTW, Medieval Battle Raps.
I kinda thought they would be Ergative Rock.
Blondie, Deep Purple, Parliament Funkadelic, the Mamas & the Papas, Cherry Poppin Daddies, NWA, The Who, Floetry, Three Times Dope, The Sex Pistols, Nirvana, Spinal Tap, 10,000 Maniacs, INXS, Onyx, The Jungle Brothers, Cameo, De La Soul, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath & The Clash (because most bands do)
I like “Uncanny X-men”
My vote is for Syskill.
You left out Killing Joke!
My favourite band names are tribute bands. Some of them can be very funny with their wordplay. Some examples (you can hopefully guess who they “do”):
By Jovi! (my favourite!)
Lez Zeppelin (all-girl band)
The Iron Maidens (all-girl band)
Bon Giovi (I think they’re Italian)
Fake That (I think you’re playing somewhere near me soon… I’ll give it a miss )
The only one I’ve actually seen is Fake Thackery, but as none of you are old enough to know who Jake Thackery was anyway it’s pointless telling you about it
Bjorn Again played at the Fresher’s Ball when I started uni. They were really good actually because they mimicked the band well but also added a lot of comedy bits between the songs.
I was very drunk though, as would be expected at a Fresher’s Ball. so they may well have been rubbish.
