Video Game News

This is unfortunate if true:

I haven’t bought Andromeda yet but honestly, with the way Bioware has listened to their players and altered their games to reflect what was said, I would always give the next Mass effect game a chance no matter how poor the previous one was.

I love that Harry Potter troll and how he made it. Kudos!

Love this retro box art for the new Wipeout collection on PS4.

God I hated the original game.

So much I kinda miss hating it.

I loved it, that Chemical Brothers soundtrack was ace!

Another snippet of Sonic Mania footage (that happens to feature one of the best soundtracks from a Sonic level).

I love the way they’re remixing some of the old level gimmicks to keep things fresh and interesting, without betraying any of the original game mechanics.

Ok, so I’m now genuinely aroused with excitement for Sonic Mania.

Players will go head-to-head with the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror in an epic battle across Chronopolis, from Ancient Egypt and The Old West to Sakaar and New York City in 2099. Along the way, gamers will be able to take control of a host of iconic characters, from Cowboy Captain America from the past to Spider-Man 2099 from the future along with Thor, Hulk, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Green Goblin, and dozens of other Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains.

If Sonic and Tails were to have a baby…

Who would be the mother?

This is looking pretty great. Definitely picking it up.

I think you really need to tag @Jim in for that one.

(Interesting to see them leaning so much on the current/recent movies.)

Summoned like monkey summoning his cloud. I don’t play video games any more, but I’m delighted my boys have games like this to look forward to. Spoiled little shits.

OK, so did anyone really think we’d be getting RDR 2 this year?
We’ll get the bad news out of the way, shall we?

While we were all waiting to get lost in the old west this Christmas, it has been announced by publishers Rockstar Games - the folks behind the first game, as well as the GTA series - that Red Dead Redemption 2 has had it’s release date postponed to “Spring 2018”.

That is about the extent of the bad news, as the rest has got us very excited.

Apparently, the delay in the game is most likely because they want it to be 4K compatible so it can be played on the new Microsoft Scorpio and the Sony PS4 Pro consoles.

The CEO of distributors Take-Two Interactive stated:

“The purpose of the delay of Red Dead Redemption 2 is to make sure we deliver the most extraordinary experience we’re capable of providing. We haven’t run into particular [technical] issues [with development], and we are building Red Dead Redemption 2 as a new game from the ground up for the first time for the new generation of consoles.”

“The pressure that we put on ourselves to deliver excellence and delight consumers is extraordinary. So we want to make sure the appropriate time is taken to ensure we can do the best job we can. I think that’s what consumers expect from Rockstar Games, and that’s what Rockstar Games typically delivers.”

“So we emphatically support the label’s decision [to delay the game], and we’re utterly confident that time will prove that decision to be wise first and foremost creatively and artistically and economically as well.”
Some lovely new shots though.

OK, I’m going to sleep now and setting my alarm for 15th August.
