#2215

It looks like what I would want from The Tick, but the cast of the previous series were so perfect, I worry that this is going to (unfairly) suffer by comparison.

#2216

The only negative of this show so far is Arthur’s outfit. It’s…insanely bad.

But it looks really good and Serafinowicz is perfect.

On the one hand; not exactly a new story, but on the other; Gleeson.

And Treadaway is very good too, but mostly Gleeson.

#2223

The Threadaway role was supposed to be Anton Yelchin, so it’ll be hard not to think of that.

I liked the book a few years ago, but the sequels were so bad they ruined it for me a bit. Thankfully this is only planned as a mini-series.

I might give it a watch for Gleeson.

Lots of good choices, a whole bunch of awful ones too, like House of Cards still getting awarded, or no Michael McKean for Better Call Saul.

#2225

No love for Game of Thrones? Not a single nomination there.

#2226

All that for Westworld and nothing for Jimmi Simpson?
Criminal.

#2227

and The Leftovers…

#2228

At least Carrie Coons got a nomination (even though it was for a different show).

#2229

True enough, but still… edit: and Ann Dowd got a nom for Handmaid’s Tale, but still!!

As far as I can tell with three minutes of sleuthing, no one on the show has ever gotten a nomination, and that just seems bizarre, especially when compared to the trainwreck of House of Cards. Pretty disappointing.

#2230

It’s an ongoing thing with the Emmys as far as I can see. Each year they pick a few favourites and nominate them for everything.

@njerry I saw that Game of Thrones isn’t eligible this year because of the longer gap between seasons, the new one falls into the next year’s awards.

#2231

have you watched the leftovers? they’ve had three years to cotton on, and frankly having been completely converted in the last two weeks I think it’s a travesty there hasn’t been even a single nomination born of the show’s run.

By the way, sometimes it’s odd directly messaging you here rather than via our other methods of contact

#2232

I actually looked for it today due to the praise it was getting here but it doesn’t seem to be on either of my streaming channels (Netflix and iFlix).

#2233
