Thanks to how the later Star Treks went, I like the idea of exploring strange new worlds as much in the form of learning new things about stuff we thought we already knew as much, if not not, than seeing something random every time. It’s the franchise at its heart, because these are always stories about the real world, stories we theoretically already know. Metaphor.
