Rate the MCU: 04: Thor

On a scale of 1 (awful) - 5 (amazing) how would you rate Thor?

Armor clad and wearing a red cape, Thor is crouched, holding the handle of his hammer to the ground, and rock debris is being blasted away. In the background are four panels showing the faces of Jane, Loki, Odin, and Heimdall.

Again wasn’t too pushed on Thor as a comic fan.

But enjoyed the world they built here. And Loki was rocking.

I gave it a 3. It was decent but didn’t blow me away.

3/5 it was decent enough at the time but Hemsworth has since really made the role his own

When I think of Thor that’s who I think of now, the same can only be said of Chris Pratt as Starlord

4/5.

The Asgard scenes were amazing, I thought, and just getting the cinematic version of Thor right was an incredible feat. The scenes in the town on Earth were a bit too small-scale, but hey. Didn’t really matter.

The best thing was that they built such a great and believable dynamic between Thor, Odin and Loki. That’s the core of the movie that makes everything work, for this one and for the sequels. So, yeah. Back then, watching it in the cinema, I couldn’t believe they managed to get all that right, to make a proper Thor movie that was actually good. Quite an achievement.
