Alright, let’s forget abouy Rhodey… cause apparently he’s dead and it’s been done (like that’s ever stopped a comicbook before, but whatevs)
Here’s the one thing that puzzles me most about Marvel’s decisions over the past few years:
So, they said “right we need more diversity and younger characters”… that’s fine up until there. But then they go “Oh I know, let’s turn Falcon into black Cap, and let’s turn Amadeus Cho into young asian Hulk, and let’s turn Miles into young black Spidey, etc, etc, etc… and let’s brand them as the new Avengers”. And my question is whyyyy??
Marvel already has a lot of pre-existing and well liked characters? Why not push them to the forefront? Remeber the Young Avengers? with Patriot, Hawkeye, Hulking, Cassie, Wiccan, & co?
Those were your obvious legacy characters, and in fact, I believe they’re actually well liked and they would’ve been better received. So why didn’t Marvel go with them instead? Well because they went with the cheap & easy marketing.
Why not push a Cloak & Dagger book? I mean, I guess with the new tv series they will now. Same for the Runaways. Point being there are already a lot of pre-existing and good & diverse characters that could use a push. I really don’t get what they did, beyond as I said, a very badly planned marketing strategy.
