U know this fuckin omnishambles dates back to when they stopped publishing the FF.
That was their flagship book.
They've ripped the heartbeat out of their line over movie politics.
Keep the film line and the comic line away from each other and let the people who know the movie business deal with the strategy of the movie line and the people who know the comics deal with the strategy of the comic line, and get the best people in to make each silo as strong as possible.
If the movies result in more people buying comics then good but ultimately all this fucking about has come from trying to sideline FF and the XMen because they don't have the rights and trying to manufacture new movie IPs in an unnatural fashion, like the complete farce that has turned out to be the Inhumans.
Sorry if I'm moving to rant mode now, but trying to push a super team of a guy who can't talk and a woman who's super power is her fucking hair is laughable. As good as Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee's maxi series was about 20 years ago, the fact that they have even attempted this sums up that the keys need to be handed over to someone else now. They've lost the plot.
Was their ever a time their wasn't a FF book published until now? I don't think so.
Bring back the FF, stick the best possible writer on it with the best 2 possible artists, on one single book.
Start again with the XMen, with one or 2 books, again with a creative team worthy of the franchise.
Use that as your launchpad and compliment it with a recognisable SpiderMan, Cap, Iron Man, Hulk etc
It seems so obvious to me that I find it incredibly frustrating.
