I defended it originally and I’m still fine with the concept, but I’m up to the end of issue 5 of Secret Empire now and it’s boring AF.
So dragged out that it’s painful. Any of the bigger moments are diluted by the fact that by the time the beats hit, I just don’t care.
The mix of artists is a mess and the overall aesthetic is just murky and unappealing.
I like Nick Spencer, but someone needs to have a word with him about his dialogue.
So dense that I’ve got to the stage I can’t be bothered reading it. Ive said it before, immok with wordy books when they have something to say, but it’s totally unnecessary.
I don’t know if he thinks it provides value for money for a longer read, but the material doesn’t warrant it.
I think I’ve got another issue in my comiXology, after that I’m skipping the rest until the final issue. I’ll miss feck all.
