I think I said at the start of my post that I don't like to be influenced by others. If it's something I already want to read or something that I have enjoyed, I get no pleasure watching it being picked apart in a negative fashion.
It's the same with anything, books, tv, movies.
Unless it's something I am on the fence about, I will generally not bother with reviews, articles or opinions.
I am going to go back and read Black Panther, I've already decided that - so I did not need to read whatever that guy thinks about it, it would serve no purpose.
Also, this morning I had a choice to either read an article I wasn't interested in reading, or read my book on the train. I'll always choose the latter.
I don't like to spend much time online, Millarworld is my only vice, I make a conscious effort not to sit staring at my phone all day letting myself get wound up by shit someone I don't know has to say, because I don't think the amount of negative views that I get bombarded with are good for my own mental health. That doesn't always work, I still react, but I try to minimise that.
I'd much rather read what you guys think about something if I do want an opinion, unless you have a habit of being constantly negative, then I'll generally gloss over the posts.
In hindsight I shouldn't have commented. But I think the best way to judge a finite run is at the end of it, same way I wouldn't judge a book or a movie halfway thru.
However, in my defence, I'm just chatting about it on a thread on a forum.
It's different to writing an article, designed to get attention, clicks, notoriety and to get my name out there.
