I've not read the article, as I don't like to be influenced by others, however I'll base my comments on the headline.
I bought and read the first 6 issues. I loved it to begin with and my interest faded a little in the end.
The reason was not anything to do with the suggestion that the BP is 'lame duck king' - i think that's sort of reactionary view is stupidly premature and people write these articles in the hope of getting attention as being the first to trash something from a specific angle.
I think the fair and correct time to assess Coates run will be once it is finished, given the fact that the writer of that article does not know what Coates has planned for the arc and growth of BP as a character.
For me personally, I've stopped buying it - not because it's a bad book, and not because I have concerns about the direction being taken - but because I'm finding it too complex to follow on a monthly basis and I'm going to hold off and read it in trade which will make it easier for me to follow.
