Well, that was......emotional.
Pearl Mackie was outstanding this week. The whole thread with her mum had me holding back tears, particularly when her 'memories' turned out to be the resolution I was not expecting at all.
I thought they played that rather well, very clever and the payoff worked very well for me.
My son was continually asking questions (my wife is still not happy I'm letting him watch it with me but he loves it) and at that stage when the images of Pearl's mum were popping all over the screen I literally couldn't respond as I was about to start bubbling.
Something weird has happened to me since the kids came along I'm definitely more emotional.
I enjoyed this a lot and it was a good 3 episode arc to mix things up a bit; happy to go back to the dine in ones now though.
The idea of the rewritten history was not very original as we've had a few alternative history things doing the rounds recently, but it was well executed and it was good to see Missy's cameos, she was excellent as usual.
A bit tentative for the next episode though.....the Ice Warriors are a bit....well....crap
