Yeah, that was going to be my point. Also, even if the cops saw his face they wouldn't have a clue who he was - it's not as though they'd go "OMG! It's Peter Parker!!!"

But if some of them got a good enough look to get a good sketch artist rendering, Gwen's dad would probably recognize him. Still, I thought that scene was pretty clear that he moves too fast (plus it's dark out) for anyone to get a good look at his face. Essentially they'll know he's got brown hair. Gwen knowing isn't a big deal. I prefer for her to know, actually.

Anyway, it looks good. I was never really into the Raimi movies. This one looks more up my alley. Plus, I've got a bit of a crush on Emma Stone so...

Yeah, but Captain Stacy probably isn't going to be around too long...

It looks good. I had to admit to myself, this morning, that I didn't want to like it. It's not that I wanted it to fail - I didn't...but I didn't want to like it. But...it looks REALLY good. I am pretty impressed with this, and very much anxious to see it.

They have a spin-off out this year, This Is 40, about them.

I dunno, he looks pretty dangerous. Spidey's never been about "epic" to me. He's more about the lower level stuff, and as long as you care about the outcome, the scale of the carnage doesn't matter. And the way they appear to have done that is by making it more personal - it appears as though Pete is partly responsible for having Doc Connors go lizardy.

Also... Mysterio?? Posted Image

On paper Mysterio isn't any higher than the Lizard, I'll admit. But on the big screen, the effects and stuff you could do with a Mysterio villian would be awesome.

A movie with the Lizard as the main villian would kind of be like a Star Wars movie with a stormtrooper as the main bad guy.

At various points, the Lizard has tried to mutate the population of New York City into giant lizards like himself and used his telepathic control of lizards to take over the reptile complex of the human brain and drive the surrounding population into a frenzy.

That's chaos on a grand scale. Done properly, you're looking at something like Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

I must be one of the few that didn't find the trailer to be all that appealing. I'm still going to see it anyways but it looks fairly standard to me, and lizard is a boring nemesis. I'm hoping if I go in with low expectations that I'll be pleasantly surprised.

The Lizard's a good opposite to Spider-Man though. Pete starts as a normal able-bodied person, unwittingly gets bitten by the radioactive/genetically altered/magic/hungry spider and gets a bevvy of super-powers that augment his body with no real negative physical effects. Connors actively tries to repair his one-armed body with lizard cells and becomes horribly mutated lizard creature. There are parallels you can draw there, making do with what you've got vs trying to play god etc (not that I think anyone should judge Connors too harshly).

It's a better pairing for Spidey than 'oo, my best frenemy's dad has gone crazy and decided to kill me for some reason.'

Apparently at the end of the trailer, you can see briefly "Mark of the Spider-man", which appears to be part of some kind of viral campaign.

There's a shot right near the middle of someone looking right at it spray-painted on a wall.

I know it may not be popular, but I love the costume. Not saying it is better than the classic. But I like it.

Trailer has me excited (not perfect), but makes me more than glad they are rebooting. Really like Garfield.

I'd say it is. But that's probably because I'm the audience the new suit is aimed towards.

And I can't help but think it would have been a perfect Ultimates suit of Ultimate Spider-Man if he'd ever been old enough to join like Fury planned on.

I have to admit it feels like weve seen all this before in terms of action and fx. Imnot really seeing anything that we really havent already seen in the raimi movies.

I meant you can see the phrase "mark of the spider-man" in the trailer.

Oh well that's pretty damn cool!

Is that a little joke to it being Mark Webb being the director of the Spider-Man film too?

I know this probably isn't what it mean's but I can't help but think of 'the Mark of Kaine' from that too. There's another route they could go that's different from the Raimi films. Osborn (if he's introduced) feels he owns Peter because it was an Oscorp Spider and thinks he can do what he likes with Peter's DNA.

And I don't know why but I think it's awesome that his webshooters look really homemade and he used old watches for them. The fact they do genuinely fire out the web by the sounds of it in the trailer is another nice touch.

Yet, his costume doesn't. Maybe it's explained in the movie.

This trailer really didn't grab me. I will probably still see the movie at the moment, I'm more excited about Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance than ASM.

I think the only explanation you need for that is that nobody wants to see a cheap-ass, home-made costume in a big budget movie.
