Hi Mike! I tried searching by your last name. I was surprised at how many there were. I couldn't decipher which one was you and I don't have a twitter account to verify by. I'd love to check out your pics though! I remember your photography skills were getting better and better last time I visited the photography thread (it's been a while since I've been on).

Oh, I rarely use my surname online (Facebook is about the only place it appears in a non-professional context) - I'm @thefourthcraw on Instagram, as I am on Twitter.

I tend to use Instagram more for random photoblog type shots, or if I see something then and there that there's not time to get my proper camera out for.

Today, completely independently of one another (as far as I'm aware), two people I follow on Twitter posted almost identical pics on Instagram within an hour of one another.

Heh, I was there on Saturday (fairly mediocre (imo) graphic design and illustration exhibition called Pick Me Up going on at Somerset House - mediocre apart from three pieces, one by Jock and one by Mark Buckingham, and one by another comic artist). Saw the dying flowers outside though ... there's something like 10,000 little sculptured flowers in the main courtyard, it's very very odd.

I loved the wee ceramic flowers at Somerset House, and while I can understand it a bit, the synchronicity's a bit odd. Maybe your friend and I were snapping at the same time Steve. I tend to use x-pro if filtering, though I play around a bit with most of instagram's effects from time to time.

Okay, this is going to sound really silly, but how do you find Instagram pics on the web? There's no obvious way to even look at my own pics via the Instagram website, let alone other peoples' pics.

Nah, I found it really pretentious, excessively fashionable (loads and loads of folksy images of foxes) and hardly any decent narrative images - they were by and large attempts at surreallity ('ooh, a woodcut of a fisherman holding an apple, done in a quaint folkish line style!'). Rubbish.

Jock did a nice 'man running down a dark alley' image though.

Steve, I think it might be an Instagram 'thing' that they intend you to look at people's pictures through the app rather than on the web - yu can link to individual photos (for Twittering and so on) but not to a person's whole stream. It's frustrated me a bit in the past before, but I've learnt to just go with it now.

I'm now not sure whether to put Instagram pics of mine in this thread or in my photo thread in Creative

Well actually you can Instagram online through Statigram. You can log in with your IG username and password. Statigram is pretty sweet. Lots of neat features and stats. You can do pretty much everything but post photos.
