X-Men Second Class is going to be more of the same, but a different colour and it'll take longer to get here?

Here's a complimentary coke and some plastic cutlery. Now, shut up and put your seat in the upright position. Posted Image

I wonder if they'll call it second class?

I quite like "Erik and Charles: The Sophomore Years".

Now I really wish they'd not have paralyzed Charles so soon. Really, an opportunity squandered, in my opinion.

I agree, but as long as the cast stays intact I think this will be a good thing.

Yeah, that was my biggest gripe with the movie. I would have liked to have seen Xavier and Magneto's friendship extended over a couple of movies. Really flesh it out before the big rift. Still, I'll be looking forward to more of Fassbender's Magneto. That guy was pretty awesome.

I could do without January Jones.

And I think they'll be lucky to get Fassbender again, and Jennifer Lawrence, unless they got them to sign up for sequels when they did the first movie. Lawrence is about to go stratospheric if all goes to plan with Hunger Games.

I hope Storm and Scott make appearances this time around.

I'd also like to see a young Toad pop up on Magneto's side.

I remember reading a while back that Vaughn planned on including just one more new character to the X-men; the only majors left worth introducing (I can figure) would be Sunfire, Thunderbird, Cannonball or Polaris.

I'd quite like to see Exodus, Fabian Cortez and the Acolytes though. Or Graydon Creed and the Sentinel Program.

EDIT: I'm almost positive that the major players all signed three-picture deals. The biggest problem would be finding a space to film among Fassbender's busy schedule.

With Charles already paralysed and Erik gone bad I hope they don't have any more plot landmarks they feel the need to warp a story in order to reach.

The first film suffered a bit too much of that.

Yeah she wasn't the best. As Tim said. I'm pretty sure all the main actors signed a 2-3 film contract. So I'm pretty sure Fassbender will be back for the sequel. I mean really First Class was really all about Professor X and Magneto anyways. You need those two actors to return for this to be great...imo

You're forgetting The Big One - we haven't had the "origin" of Charlie's baldness yet!

I'd be very surprised if they don't have a sequel option with everyone, and Fassbender wont have an Oscar to help push his price up too far. He seems like a smart guy and I'm sure he appreciates the value of a franchise to him.

They'll negotiate and come to a good deal for everyone.

Honestly, I'd like for them to throw out continuity all together and just do whatever they want. Forget tying them to the other 3. Though I'd also love Hugh Jackman to be in the sequel. Because I think a showdown between Fassbender and Jackman would be awesome.

Erik is still redeemable at this point. He's angry, and he was ready to cross the line if Charles hadn't stopped him, but there are still steps between "We will show the normals that we will not let ourselves be attacked" and "We are going to wipe out the normals because this is our world now".

Mentally or physically? Because if it's physically it had better happen BEFORE Logan gets his adamantium.

He had crossed the line, albeit under extreme provocation, but I agree he's got further to go. What I'm referring to are key points, like Charles' becoming paralyzed, that are pushed into the film whether they fit at that point or not.

I'd like to see and characters that appear in the next movie grow and breath naturally.

they could open the next one with the end of the last one. Then at the end...Charles gets up and walks about, because he was mind-f'ing everyone to get them all to chill out. It'd be rubbish, but it'd be cool to wipe away that very forced "what if it tanks and we don't get to make another one" ending.

Mostly just on the mental level. I'd love to see those two characters played by those two actors go toe to toe in an acting sense. But also it'd be cool to see a pre-adamantum Wolverine take on Magneto.

And then they could end the second movie with Erik crippling Charles again. But on purpose this time.

they could just end every movie like that, in honour of how often it happens in the comics.

Am I the only one hoping for this not to happen so the franchise could have a rest and be rebooted? First Class was memorable for all the wrong reasons and really felt like a TV movie with a budget.
