Here's my project from last week - an updated retelling of Icarus and Daedalus but drawn in the style of the greek pots the original tale would have been conveyed with, called "I64RU5S5 & D43DA1U5" after their jumpsuit numbers/codes. The brief was 'Journey', and a lot of the example we were given were old myths or fables, or epic quests, or tales etc. So I picked one that I quite enjoy, though it's a short one. This time around they're in prison (the maze), escape using a home-made hang glider (the wings) and Icarus is killed by flying too close to the spotlight (the sun).

Some more Illustration work. The brief was How To Guides. I was given How To Make It To The Top. So I decided to do one about how to make it to the top in business. Only the 'character' 'acting out' the guide is an idiot, so he accidentally starts up a criminal organisation. Same rules apply!

I going to say that the BLOW piece is awesome… But I´m afraid that it´ll make the other great pieces sad. Can I just say that all of your stuff is great then?

Nice, that BLOW thing is great. It's 'written' well, with a sense of humour, which is a gift when it comes to successful illustration. Only change I'd suggest is make them more basic and minimal, less planes of distance and more 2D, copying real safety guides a little more, like this one:



It'd make your images less comic-book and less fun, but might look funnier. But reckon you'll get a good mark as it is, so good work!

Thanks Michael! Yeah, I was wondering that. If I got the time I might have a go doing it like that. My tutor seems happy with it, and at this stage I'll get a high B (apparently) but if I manage to get it made into a booklet as planned I'll get a low A. S'all good!

Thanks man, coincidently one of my mates has asked me if I could get this printed off as a poster for her. I may end up going down the route of Carlos Pedro and trying to get some posters and or t-shirts done if I get enough images/work done that's popular enough!
