Rewatching Parks and Rec. because I'm introducing it to someone else. I'm glad it's as much fun to watch as the first time around.

Making my way through the 90's Xmen Cartoon..Any suggestions for cool arcs/eps? I vaguely remember the epic 4 part cable/Apocalypse saga, and was planning on hitting that one up first.

If you find a copy of X-Men: The Essential Guide, published by Boxtree in the 90s and written by some guy called John Mosby, it provides a handy episode guide!

Ah, but they're only kids, they don't know any better! True, but the way some of these kids are going, they may not get the chance to wise up! True car-crash TV in every respect, but not as depressing as it sounds.

'Pirates of the Caribbean:On Stranger Tides'

Better than the previous one (not difficult) but still a bit wooly, and did anyone care about the young couple's story?

No, thought not.

I watched It's Kind Of A Funny Story the other day. An indie comedy about an almost suicidal teen that unwittingly gets himself committed to a mental health ward for a week and learns life-changing lessons etc. Not as trite and sappy as it sounds actually. It's got heart, but it knows how it could easily be quite annoying and manages to side-step a lot of that. Good cast in it.

I just watched The Girl who Plays with Fire on Netflix. I enjoyed it. I don't know why they didn't just release these films here in the USA...oh wait..yes I do...Americans can't read subtitles...ha.

So far I've seen these 2 of the trilogy. I keep meaning to go see the American version to see how it compares. But I would say these two Swedish ones are pretty good. Yes the production could be a bit better..but overall they did pretty well sticking to the story.

Just watched Rage: 20 Years of Punk Rock West Coast Style, a documentary on the history of Californian Punk Rock. Annoying interviewer aside it’s entertaining, stupid, shallow and deep all at the same time, just like Punk is supposed to be.

Just saw The Descendants. It was okay - sharply written and slightly offbeat, as you'd expect from an Alexander Payne film, and Clooney was of course as watchable as ever.

I just didn't particularly care about the whole finding-his-wife's-lover sub-plot, and it took up a surprisingly large part of the movie.

Good performances from the two daughters, though, particularly Shailene Woodley, who I think will get a few more starring roles out of this.

I also tried to watch Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (I.e. the prequel, not the latest one.) Didnt make it to the end though. I'll never understand why these movies take themselves so seriously. I'm not saying they should be comedies or anything, but a little acknowledgement of how silly they are wouldn't hurt. They should have a little FUN with it, but instead everyone spends the entire movie scowling!

I saw The Descendants not too long ago as well, and I generally agree with you on everything you said. Woodley was actually a big surprise for me, because, thanks to my sister, I've seen a few of The Secret Life of the American Teenager (which Woodley stars in), and the acting in that show is horrendous. To be fair, everyone in that show comes across awful. Because the writing is just terrible stuff, and I'm convinced the actors are told to act as poorly as possible.

Point being, if that show is still on the air Woodley needs to jump ship because it's not only wasting her talents, it's undermining it.

Also, I decided to use this day off to go ahead and watch The Artist. It was a charming and well made film. Nothing that's going to get me jumping up and down, but it had a few moments that put a smile on my face and I certainly respect it a lot.

Finally got around to watching Moon. Steered clear of any chat about it as I didn't want it spoiled and really glad I did. Great movie and fantastic

Just got finished with Tcker and Dale vs Evil. Loved it, really liked the role reversal at the centre of it and it had a lot of heart too.

I watched the first episode of AMC's western series, 'Hell on Wheels'.

It was pretty good, if a little heavy handed, and I'll give the rest of the first season a go.

Was flicking through the LoveFilm menu on my xbox. Ended up watching the Blackadder Xmas special. Was quite funny, though not a patch on the proper TV serieses.

Yeah, the only parts of that special I like are the flashbacks to Blackadder II and III. The opening bit goes on far too long, and the "future" bit isn't very funny.
