Yeah, not the expected casting - if any Smallville allumni were being considered, I would have expected Erica Durance over Kristen Kreuk...

So, this is, like, Parks & Recreation on a White House level?

Probably that crossed with The Thick of It, considering its by Iannucci and some of the other Thick of It writers.

For Community fans, it's been announced the show is returning March 15th: http://www.hitfix.co...-taking-a-break Posted Image

I like Community, but sometimes they're trying to be a little too clever. Also, the humor relies mostly on the crazy characters, and that can get tired.

It's Paul Abbott, so I'll definitely give it a shot.

Titanic Miniseries to Sail Into Cannes for MIPTV

ITV Studios and Lookout Point will host a gala screening of the mini-series and Q&A session with Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes and cast members.

Titanic will dock at Cannes’ port when the new international mini-series screens at this year’s MIPTV on April 1, organizers Reed MIDEM said on Thursday.

The miniseries’ distributor ITV Studios Global Entertainment and Lookout Point will host a gala screening followed by a conversation with the creators and cast members of the show including Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes.

The ITV Studios co-production with Shaw Media, Deep Indigo Productions, Lookout Point, Sienna Films Inc. and Mid Atlantic Films was filmed in Hungary and has already been sold to more than 80 countries. Produced by Nigel Stafford-Clark and Chris Thompson, the four one-hour episodes will hit small screens everywhere in March and April marking the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the famous ship. Fellowes, who has won an Oscar for Gosford Park and an Emmy Award for Downton Abbey, will join the mini-series’ cast members for a Q&A session following the screening of the first episode. The Titanic cast and execs will also make an appearance at the red carpet of MIPTV’s opening night soirée that evening.

Fox Cancels 'Terra Nova'

Though the network declines to move forward with a second season of its pricey time traveling series from Steven Spielberg, 20th TV will attempt to shop it to other networks.

While the pricey dinosaur series averaged 7.5 million total viewers and 2.6 million in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demo in its 11-episode first season, it failed to catch on the way the network had hoped. Its two-hour finale matched a series low in the demo, drawing a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 and an audience of 7.2 million.

As Ian Malcolm would say (again), it's extinct.

If they couldn't shop Firefly to other networks, I can't imaging them getting Terra Nova picked up. It was ok, but way too expensive for just "ok," and anywhere that might take it, like Syfy, has gotten even more cheap over the years.

Actually the head of Fox was quoted as saying that Terra Nova was a profitable show for them, which was why it took so long for them to decide on whether or not to renew it.

It doesn't give much hope to Fringe, which he said outright is unprofitable for them at its current ratings.

That is interesting, you wouldn't think they'd cancel a show if it was making them money. Still, even if it was profitable on Fox doesn't mean it would be profitable off broadcast networks. Being network guarantees a certain level of viewership that most cable shows would kill for. According to TVbythenumbers, Terra Nova was averaging a 0.90, which was pretty soft. That would put them just outside the top 10 on cable, just ahead of Comicbook Men.

A lot of omissions (no Carver!), but could be worse. I'm pulling for Lester to win.

More somewhat unexpected casting news: John Barrowman in the new, 1895-set, Shona Rhimes-produced pilot Gilded Lilys: http://www.tvline.co...n-gilded-lilys/

Captain Jack is going back in time again.

John Barrowman — best known as immortal time traveller Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and its spinoff Torchwood — has joined Gilded Lilys, ABC’s period drama pilot being exec-produced by Grey’s Anatomy boss Shonda Rhimes.

To be penned by K.J. Steinberg (The Nine, Gossip Girl), Lilys is set in 1895 and promises to deliver an epic love story, a vicious rivalry and a scandalous secret unfolding against the backdrop of the opening of New York’s first luxury hotel. Barrowman will play a member of the show’s central family, the Lilys.

The news was first reported by TVGuide.com.

The cast also includes Blythe Danner, Matt Lauria, Sarah Bolger and Madeline Zima.

Anything that makes more Torchwood less likely is a good thing.

Ooooh, some tough choices - Bunker or Brother Malzone? Daniels or McNulty?

Though as much as I want Lester to win too, I think Omar'll take it.

I ask you (well not you, you, but you everybody), how can you take this seriously when Bubbles is a 7 seed.

But I agree with Sanjay, its probably Omar for the win. A piece of me died when Omar got taken down by that little wanna-be gangster.
