The Eastern European location definitely makes it feel like a big budget direct-to-video sequel. My wife finds the first one hilarious so I'll be seeing this one in the theater without a doubt.

Huh. This really does not look shit. Weird, first the GI Joe 2 trailer, then this... what's happening to our action trash?

I notice the screenwriters are off House and Walking Dead respectively. Which is another good sign, I've got a lot of respect for the writing on both shows.

Anyone know when Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is back? IMDB claims the first episode of season 2 aired on 20th October. I'm assuming that's an error since I can't find a download of it, and there haven't been any broadcast since.

It was shown at some cons but that's it. No idea when it'll air on TV.

Disney today sent out a few changes for upcoming releases. Marvel’s The Avengers 3D updates the movie from 2D to 3D. Its May 4, 2012 opening date remains the same. Previous Disney Untitled has been christened Frozen 3D and its wide opening is still slated for November 27, 2013. Another comic-book property, Marvel Untitled is shifted to April 4, 2014 wide from June 27, 2014.

I hope I can find it in 2D.

Any more news on Guillermo Del Toro's HULK television series?

This is the last I read http://screenrant.co...ow-benm-141332/

NOV 2011:

“Very good. We delivered the screenplay to the network. I have a very specific idea of how to do it, and we’re waiting for the green light. [Ed. note: No pun intended?] We know all the iterations of the Hulk pretty [well]. We’ve read all the essential stories, and we’re then riffing on that. There are so many incarnations and ideas. Jeph Loeb — who did a good run [on Hulk: Grey] — is involved, and I love Peter David’s Hulk. But there’s really no part in that mythos that we don’t know, so we are trying put our own personal spin on it.”

I think Benicio del Toro would make a good Bruce Banner.

And a very expensive one.

I think it's likely he'd agree with you though, but also with me. Posted Image

'Game of Thrones' Director Alan Taylor Chosen for 'Thor 2'

The search for a Thor 2 director to replace Patty Jenkins has ended. Sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter that Alan Taylor, best known for directing episodes of HBO's fantasy series Game Of Thrones, has nabbed the job.

<SNIP>

Jenkins (Monster) made headlines in early December when she departed the high-profile sequel to May's Thor. Both she and Marvel cited "creative differences" but THR's Kim Masters later revealed that Marvel abruptly dismissed Jenkins when the studio felt she was showing “a lack of overall clarity in her choices,” according to one source. Marvel was concerned that the filmmaking process would be “difficult” and that the planned release date might be hard to hit.

The move to jettison Jenkins infuriated star Natalie Portman, who had been excited about Jenkins becoming the first woman to direct a major superhero tentpole film. A source speculated that Marvel executives might have been won over initially by Portman’s enthusiasm for Jenkins but then, “when they started to interview writers for [a planned script] rewrite . . . may have decided they really weren’t comfortable.”

Regardless, if a deal can be worked out, Taylor will now step into the director's chair. Marvel also is hiring a writer to work on the script by Don Payne.

Saving Private Ryan‘s Robert Rodat tapped to rewrite Thor 2 script:

More than two weeks after naming Alan Taylor to replace Patty Jenkins as director of Thor 2, Deadline reports Marvel has hired Saving Private Ryan screenwriter Robert Rodat to rework the sequel’s script.
Creator of the TNT sci-fi drama Falling Skies, Rodat edged out such contenders as John Collee (Happy Feet, Master and Commander: Far Side of the World) and Roger Avary (Pulp Fiction, Beowulf) to rewrite a draft by Don Payne (Thor, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer).
Marvel was looking for another writer before it showed Jenkins the door in early December, and hoped to accelerate the process once Taylor (Game of Thrones, Palookaville) was in place. According to one report, that search process may have even contributed to Jenkins’ firing as studio executives “decided they really weren’t comfortable” with the Monster director.

Looks like he's got himself in a bit of a scuffle. Also, much prefer the costume sans-cowl / helmet.

Mentioned this over in the general Marvel thread in the comics section, but want to mention it here as well, just so I can back up my smugness later on if I'm right. I think all the seemingly baseless rumours about Ant-Man appearing in Avengers might be right, as there are an awful lot of Hank Pym trades being released next summmer, just like for Black Widow when Iron Man 2 came out.

I'm still very excited for this. And I agree, I think the removed mask would work in the films as a constant thing since weirdly he's the gy you'd most like to advertise is on the team yet hide his face. If you look at it in a real-world/P.R. kind of way.

Making the Ultimate versions of the characters wear the films suits would be a good move in my opinion since it'd make jumping in for new readers slightly easier. Plus they're all more modern and realistic anyway since, well, they're real suits Posted Image

It's really not like Steve Rogers has a secret ID or a family to worry about anyway. I like the cowl personally, but can rationalise him not having it a lot better than some other superheroes in some other films.
