That Mongrol figure is all kinds of bad ass! I remember seeing some promo material for it ages ago listing it as "1 of 8". A full set of ABC Warriors would be cool beyond words (especially if they all had the same high production values).

3A have said that if they can sell 'em, they'll make all seven. Although, technically, Mongrol is two for the price of one, because he comes with a flask containing the Mess.

Cheers!

courtesy Seibertron.com: a translated version of a Q&A with some of the folks behind the Transformers toyline.

Hironori Kobayashi has it right, new Magnus, Springer and Arcees are the way to go. My Car Robots/RID God/Ultra Magnus is getting a bit past it now, and doesn't quite fit in to the other Classics styled guys that have come out from Has/Tak lately.

Just bought this figure, as I literally need 1 part of it for a new custom I'm putting together, and am really excited for!

I'd love for Hasbro to just continually pre-empt all the third party stuff. Also like that other guy's idea of redoing Lio Convoy and Headmasters that work for the modern aesthetic (though I'd rather have figures of Headmaster characters but not as Headmasters).

Remember that little news story from last year about Disney buying Marvel? Well I'm continually forgetting, but remembered while in town today, so popped into my local Disney store. Not only does it stock Marvel Universe figures, but it's got a better and more up to date range than anywhere else in the area. Managed to pick up Dr Strange and the Scarlet Spider (along with a half price Wrecker from the Entertainer, hidden amongst dozens of unsold Kitty Prydes). Regrettably had to pass on Cyclops, modern Thor and Spidey 2099 though.

The tiny little bio thing on the back of Scarlet Spider's card is rather amusing though. 'Scarlet Spider is Peter Parker's most trusted friend and ally'. Which is a somewhat liberal and simplified reading of the Clone Saga, I'd say.

hey, ya can't trust nobody if ya can't trust yer exact duplicate created by one of your greatest enemies in an attempt to kill you and ruin your life. well...

anyway, cool news about Disney Stores. I'd never thought of going there as the one near me never appears to have any superhero stuff in the windows. Bet they never had any comics though.

I ended up talking to the manager or assistant manager about that sort of thing actually and he seemed a bit daunted by the up-coming super-hero stuff. They haven't got any comics in yet (he didn't seem aware of the upcoming Season One books), but he said he's expecting they'll get some in next year for the films such as, he said, Superman. He realised he meant Spider-Man though. He seemed a bit daunted by it all, because he hasn't a clue about it. I suppose most Disney Shop stock is based on all the same set of characters and the staff have to be well-versed in it to help customers, so heaping the Marvel Universe in there is a big ask.

Oh I can see that, I mean there's a heck of a lot to remember as is. You've your Donald and Goofy and Emperor Mouse, Pooh and his gang, Buzzy, Woody and their guys and then the whole load of individual movies and the princesses and dwarves and all them crazy talking animals and stuff! That's just cartoons, they've pretty heavily promoted the POTC films and I suppose it's possible they had some Tron stuff in there once. Getting Marvel, which, even including just the stuff that has movies to promote involved, throws a whole heap of extra characters, with ever more confusing stuff. I'm quite sure they're also in deep fear of what will happen when Hulk and Tigger occupy the same portion of the space-time-continuum.

Does anyone know if they make an Ultimate Kitty Pryde (The red hood version)? That and an Armored Adventures War Machine top my want list.

Those chunky Hasbro ones? Or late 90s Jakks ones? The only guy I can think of who would have come with a guitar is Jeff Jarrett, but I was collecting back then and don't remember there being a figure of him with one.

I forgot to post this!

I was thrilled to walk out the door this morning, to find the Full Burst Mode, 1/100 Strike Freedom I ordered had been dropped off in the night by UPS (I looked on the porch last night, and it definitely wasn't there). And literally, I as I was telling Anne to watch for a package or a slip (saying I needed to go pick it up tomorrow) - I noticed that there was a massive box where I was point :) !

And since' we'd already shut up, the house - I tossed this bad boy in the car with me! Looking forward to dipping into it, maybe even as early as tonight!

both actually. I think the Honky Tonk Man might have come with a guitar, the Toybiz WCW ones had a Jeff Jarrett or two with guitar. At least one of the Jarrett ones exploded (which is cool) and was super ginormous (not so cool). barring that, there's obviously some figures of musicians. I'm trying to think if there's any in GI Joe scale though?

also: LUCKY MOFOS AT NYCC GET SWEET TRANSFORMERS!

edit: if you're getting the old WWF figures, look for Skinner. He's one of the coolest toys ever.

Ah, actually, best option would probably be the Laserbeak guitar that came with TF:Animated Soundwave. Oo, or the Ratbat keytar from the Electrostatic repaint.

Might I also suggest looking into the Band ranges that are out there for Guitars.

I'd Say lazerbeak and ratbat might be a little too big for the spider.
