Yeah but that's my point... We assume that the observer saved Peter in the lake because he felt bad about distracting Walternate so he wouldn't find the cure... But from what we've heard, the "mistake" that got "corrected" is Peter not being saved in the lake... which means the Observer still distracted Walternate from finding the cure for Peter, thus inciting Walter to cross over anyways and start the conflict between both worlds.

Wouldn't it have been much easier for the observer to not distract Walternate in the first place, since one would think that was his original interference? The one that caused the whole situation to snowball from there?

Which leads me to think that distracting Walternate was actually part of the Observers' plan. And seeing that for some reason I seem to remember that they said something about many Peters dying of the same cause (which was a very rare condition to begin with), it would seem that one Peter surviving is a problem for those guys...

Up to now, the only obvserver who's interfered to help Peter is the one we've seen since the begining, and he seems to be having some moral issues... The others seem bent on having Peter not exist... Why would they go to so much trouble to erase all trace of Peter if they're only 'observers'?

Plus hey, we've seem other observers interfere... like hell they're only observing... they've been doing a whole lot more since the begining of the series... There was the weird machine they had burrowed somewhere for starters... why would they need to plant gizmos anywhere if they're only obvserving? I'm thinking the observers might end up being the villains here... and our 'famous' obvserver might be the rebel one that'll help the Fringe guys...

Well I guess I was right, for once

Man I really hope they don't get cancelled... Fringe's been one of the few good shows recently =(

Well, most of the tv sites seem to think that there's a good chance that FOX will give Fringe one last season of 13 episodes to wrap things up.

Well that would be the smart thing to do since they're so close to the syndication quota... But then again we're talking about FOX... so 50/50 I guess =S

I wouldn't mind just 13 episodes of really tight story plotting to give it a proper end... The series feels near its natural end, but not quite there yet...

Oh also, I loved the new title opening as well... Kinda gives aways what they're gonna foccus on, but I love it that they've done a couple of tweaks to it here and there for some episodes....

'Fringe' gets a fifth and final season from FOX

Low ratings be darned, FOX has ordered a fifth season of the previously unkillable sci-fi drama "Fringe." However, the 13-episode fifth season will be the last for the cult favorite.

The network announced on Thursday (April 26) afternoon that "Fringe" has received yet another against-all-odds pickup after withstanding a full season of Friday night adversity.

"'Fringe' is a remarkably creative series that has set the bar as one of television’s most imaginative dramas," states FOX Entertainment President Kevin Reilly. "Bringing it back for a final 13 allows us to provide the climactic conclusion that its passionate and loyal fans deserve. The amazing work the producers, writers and the incredibly talented cast and crew have delivered the last four seasons has literally been out of this world. Although the end is bittersweet, it’s going to be a very exciting final chapter."

yes! excellent news indeed...

Now I hope the writers won't f*ck up the chance to give it a GOOD ending that ties things up... I REALLY don't want another Lost screw-up....

On the plus side, I don't think there are as many mysteries left to resolve when compared to Lost... But still, it'd be nice to tie as much as possible.

Yay! Pity to see it end, but good that they've the space to tie it up.

I misssed his name in the credits so that was a cool surprise when he turned up.

We also got another awkward product placement moment from this weeks episode. i'm surprised they didn't use a bloody mobile phone to close the bridge between the universe's last week.

Gotta say, I would've been quite upset by DRJ's sudden fate, if it weren't for you-know-who's return... It's starting to come back to the first and second seasons plot, which is nice. Good thing there's still a half season left, 'cause next week is this season finale =(
