Nice work Stephen, you've got a great custom collection building up. smile.png

Thanks Sanjay. It's a neat little hobby, and fairly stress free. Half the fun is finding the right base-pieces, and developing the ideas before even getting into the work itself. They're all labors of love, if that makes sense. I want to make things I don't think I'll see, unless I do them. And while the two I'm working on now, we very well may see someday - I won't see them like this. So I'm very much looking forward to my little collection growing!

God's honest truth, Ron - I don't really have any idea. This custom spun out of a discussion over on another board, and they had a whole thread about ones favorite Spider-Man costume and why. So it got me thinking about the subject - and the Superior Spider-Man costume actually ranks in my top 5...maybe even top 3...though I won't commit to that quite yet wink.png. I like how it homages all thing things I love about the classic suit - but simplifies and upgrades it significantly. The classic costume, for my tastes, is too busy. The webs down the arms always seemed unnecessary to me. Excessive. Having Otto remove them was smart. The claws - acting as a weapon and a delivery system for new, enhanced spider-tracers also a plus. And then scanning tech and computers built into the mask / goggles - all smart stuff (I thumbed 700 and Avenging when they dropped back at the end of December).

And well I may struggle buying the book - I still appreciate the character and this costume. It hits all the right notes.

Fair enough. wink.png  I'll look forward to seeing the finished product.

It was short lived but I always thought the House of M suit was pretty cool.

Just Doc Ock wanting to improve what the suit can do. He thought it was sad that Peter just had web-shooters and his belt when he could do so much more. The claws are there for when he really needs to hurt someone to get out of a situation. The lenses have been upgraded too with night vision, they can expand or tighten to show emotion (one of the main criticisms of Spider-Man is not being able to tell what's under the mask) etc etc. It's pretty cool.

And nice work Stephen! Using the film figure was a smart move since it looks more techy compared to the comic figures.

Thanks Adam! I liked the movie figure because the red and the lines make it look a bit heavier - not quite armor like, but close. All of the detailed images I saw of the suit seemed to indicate that it was a bit of different fabric on the red portions, than it was the blue. So I ran w/ it. And that really seemed like another thing Otto would do - upgrade the red portions of the costume to better withstand damage. The movie-figure does a really good job of differentiating the pieces naturally - so it saved me a bit of work in accenting it myself.

The goggles change to show emotion!? Wow! I kind of assumed it was maybe "zoom" for his built in tech. Or that the narrower meant a different type of scan. But emotion definitely would be nice as well. More natural than the random, unexplainable mask changes. ;)

So this Superior Spider-Man repaint I have been working on continues to get a little more refined every day. I'm moving to the finishing touches now - so I figured I'd toss another little preview out there.

I had actually planned to leave the claws clear - I liked how they were almost invisible. The look was a nice contrast to the other colors on the suit. But in a rare moment - I asked twitter for its opinion. I got a solid number of answers - but it was Ryan Stegman's who stood out, being the primary, Superior Spider-Man artist. And the man said RED. So red, there are.

I'll probably finish the refining this weekend. Need to re-highlight the Spider-Symbol, as it's actually a piece of the tech, in the suit - and then finish the shoulder areas. After that - it should pretty well be completed.

Here's a shot of the spider-bot's coming together. They actually look pretty sick, now that they're near completion.

I have a near-final pic too, that I'll probably post later.

Here's a shot of the attached spider-bot on Otto-Spidey's shoulder. I'm essentially done - I just need to do final touch ups!

I finished the Superior Spider-Man custom I've been working on. I definitely didn't intend to put as much time into it as I did - but the base figure needed to be reworked a bit more than anticipated.

I included the image that made me actually want to do it - and threw the spiders in, based on some preview pages I saw, of Otto having one sitting on his shoulder. Thought that was kind of interesting.

In any event - here's some shots of my finished, Superior Spidey.

A quick, freehand repaint of my favorite Spidey costume - the Big Time suit. ALL Parker tech, all assets & complements to PP's power set. The figure just needed some touch ups.

Thanks! This is one of 3 repaints I'm going to do. The costume has a couple of different formats (green was invisible and unhearable, red for sound baffling, and white for normal mode). I want to do the red and the white. I have 1, but I still need 1 more Big Time Spider-Man figure to make that happen. It'll be a neat when I have them all complete. Nice little 3-some of customs.
