An October chill has arrived in Belfast and Game of Thrones is already deep into filming Season 2. It seems only fitting that as the second book begins in the thick of things, so should the production diary.
I’m Cat Taylor, assistant to the show’s executive producers and writers extraordinaire: David Benioff & D.B Weiss. I’ll be taking over here for Bryan Cogman, who is busy on so many exciting GOT projects that he had to stop writing the blog for fear of accidentally letting surprises slip. (Though he promises to check back in from time to time).

Of Centurion fame?Neil Marshal one of the Directors on season 2 . . . hope they've more of that calibre on board . . .
It's always a bit of a risk since the role of television director is often very different from directing film. You don't want to distinct a stamp on one episode out of proportion to the series as a whole.

How long until the next season starts?
It starts sometime in April. So many months still to go.

Given the circumstances under which she got that haircut, I thought it worked fine.At least she agreed to have her hair cut and doesn't have to wear that fright wig from the end of season 1 . . . that would be very distracting . . .

You'd think someone would have thought of getting the DVD/Blu-Ray sets out before Xmas, but it seems not.
HBO want people to watch the show through their subscriber-only streaming service, HBO Go. They still haven't released Boardwalk Empire S1 on DVD (it'll be out sometime after S2 finishes). Hopefully they don't do the same with GoT.

That's all well and good for people who already subscribe to HBO, but I'd think a lot of those people have already watched season 1. It's kind of short sighted on HBO's part. Release the season 1 DVD to try to hook non-HBO customers. But whatever. I've got HBO so it's no big deal to me.
