If I have to see that f*$%ing "3" advert guy one more time, I will hunt him down and kill him by bludgeoning him to death with his mobile phone.

I didn't see it, is that the standup comedy guy?

Yeah, that's the one. I'm going to make a point of NOT buying "3" products just to make a point...

Some of the bits are alright, but I've now seen them so many times they are grating.

I can't not buy from them though, I already have that attitude with Phones for you, I don't want to cut every company out :)

I thought the One Show bits were a bit unnecessary (it's the dictionary definition of a 'soft target') but it got better with Come Dine with Me and especially the Deadliest Warrior section.

Jamelia seemed a bit out of her depth but Richard Herring and the other guy had a few decent moments plus the studio audience were the kind of over-excited mob that Brooker would be making fun of on Screenwipe.

Why was it on for 50 minutes?, would have been better to cut out the duff bits and make it half an hour.

Ok, that was bloody funny. I'm glad to see Brooker was as amusingly caustic on this as he usually is.

I need to see Deadliest Warrior!

Bugger, forgot about this last night, but thankfully there's a repeat on E4 today. Phew.

That week of Come Dine with me was comedy gold and Channel 4 need to release it on DVD. I enjoyed the show overall although the audience laughter just felt and sounded fake.
Oh and the "3" guy is almost as annoying as the "cheeky wee volvic" guy - thank the god of your choice for taping and watching stuff later

True, but Have I Got News For You has never had to resort to eye candy to get people watching.

(Quite the opposite in Ian Hislop's case)

I have a friend who would disagree with that.

I recall several people being very shocked when she announced it.

Quite the opposite in Charlie Brooker's case as well. Anyway, Have I Got New For You regularly feature Anne Widdecombe.

Hubba hu- no, I can't even finish that joke.

Anyway, caught the repeat last night and loved it. Jamelia was a bit of an empty chair, but you're not going to get every guest being fantastic.

Watched this tonight. Not generally the biggest Brooker fan, funny but not the the extent that I'd watch a show of him unless it was on anyway, but I thought this was good.

(Although, I don't have a problem with the One Show :) )

I haven't laughed this much at a TV show for ages.

I'm guessing the bidding war between Sky One and Virgin for Deadliest Warrior will start first thing tomorrow morning.

From Rufus Hound's Twitter:

I've had an email from Bravo - the Tv Channel - They'll be showing Deadliest Warrior in fukll, as of August!

Went to the recording of the second episode of this. Very funny, although a bit of a rambling shapeless adventure. Based on the number of extra out-of-context Brooker had to shoot at the end, I expect the final broadcast version to be fairly mercilessly edited to make it a bit more focused. Frank Skinner and Josie Long were both very funny, with Grace Dent this week playing the part of the empty chair.

I kind of wish the show was on the BBC, if only so they could get better guests (though I do like Skinner and Long). Hopefully it won't be as noticeable as on Eight Out Of Ten Cats though, as they've less seats to fill each week.

How did they handle Torchwood? I mentioned in the other thread I don't think they were expecting it to be any good and just to be as easy a target as the old series would be.

After only 1 show has been broadcast and a 2nd filmed and all of the guests are relatively regular BBC panel guests? . . . (although I will admit that whenever I watch 8 out of 10 occasionaly there will be 1 or 2 guests that I don't have a clue who they are, even after they've been introduced).
