Just thought I'd post some things I've been doodling with a brush pen on the train to work, in between slowly working on a comic with the esteemed Mr. P. Ayers.

Taken a brief hiatus from drawing a comic (not showing any previews til it's done...months from now at this rate!) to do a couple of things for Sabrina's Moleskine sketchbook thread, and a Spiderman for a friend's birthday:

Discovered the lovely sensation of drawing by using pressure on the pencil rather than hatching for the first time in years (gotten too used to comic-style drawing I suppose). Has been really nice to go back to a more soft approach.

Oh, go on then, here's one panel of the book I'm working on with Patrick Ayers:

Hello all!

Just got back from a lovely week's holiday in St.Ives, Cornwall. Bit of an artist's community there, so went to a life drawing class one night and wound up with the following sketches.

They're probably not safe for work, being life-drawings...

Fantastic work, you can't go wrong with life drawing classes and I'm loving your lines.

Thanks, man! I should probably make the disclaimer that we only had 10 minutes on each of these pics though, I don't normally draw so scruffy! :)

Some work I did about 3 years ago for The Return of Dr. Octagon ad campaign for a record company (I never got around to posting it up as a finished comicbook format):

Some sketches I've been doing on the train, either of passengers around me or from the free papers dotted about...

That is some exceptional work. I like the forms which is something I struggle with.

Thanks guys! I feel like I've started drawing in a new style this week, which is really fun.

Am learning to take my sketchbook around more and more. Turns out it DOES help - who knew? :)

Awesome as ever, though am slightly freaked out by the idea that the person randomly doodling on the train might be doodling ME.

I remember exactly when and where (and what state of mind I was in :) ) I first saw those Doctor Octagon pics, and they're just as great now as they were then.

I am very eagerly awaiting your and Patrick's comic you know.
