Okay, this is the ultimate teaser trailer!!

As wise owls know Kick-Ass is a four volume saga. Kick-Ass Vol 1 was the first movie and the second movie is comprised of both the second and third volumes of the comic-book series. These are the 'Kick-Ass 2 Prelude' and 'Kick-Ass 2' itself. The movie is released on August 16th, but you can get a jump on all your friends by reading both books first and whispering all the good bits in the cinema just before they happen on-screen.

Buy the Prelude HERE:

And here's a nice little preview of the first 8 pages to whet your appetite:

PS CINEMATIC movie trailer is just having the very final FX finished. Will be with us all very, very shortly.

OK, read it and, just for good measure, re-read Kick-Ass 2 to see how the pair works.

Frankly? Kick-Ass 3 has an awful lot to pull off, but I think it has a good chance of doing that.

Why? Because when read with Kick-Ass 2, Hit-Girl works very well indeed.  It's very good on its own but even better in combination.  So what makes it good?

Surely the answer is obvious - Hit-Girl killing loads of mobsters in various ways, the comedy edge to some of these sequences is quite hilarious, the borrowing a sledgehammer sequence being the zenith of it.  Of course, none of it would really work without Romita's inspired art - it hits every point perfectly.  And Red Mist? Well, seeing what he gets up to here shows exactly that actually, he was always a sick and pathetic little feckwit!  One thing that I like about the books is, for all they have the villains being violent pychopathic bastards, they don't fall into the trap of glamourising them either.

Of the two books, I enjoyed Hit-Girl a lot more, but may well revise my opinion of Kick-Ass 2 when I've read Kick-Ass 3 at the end of the year.

I'm a-shiverin'!  There's a hook about this series that just tickles me.
