Went out for dinner with my folks earlier. Now drinking tea and getting ready to head out for a night of movies and video games.
Doing the same thing over and over again...

I'm in total food coma...made a risotto with kale, brown beans and chorizo, with pretty excellent results.

Initial wager was that the fan of the losing team will wear the winning teams jersey for work. Apparently his work is really strict with dress code and his bosses douches, so we changed it. Now the loser will change his facebook profile picture to the winners logo and keep it that way for a year.

Just got home from my friends and turned on the telly. Watching an episode of Top of the Pops from the 70s. Pretty poor mix of songs. A couple good ones but a load of shite overall.

So many choices. No wonder I may end up with frozen pizza!
Or a tuna sammich...

Got a bunch of chicken that needs cooking. Fry? Bake? Fry and bake? Dumplings? Rice? Stuffing? Taters?
So many choices. No wonder I may end up with frozen pizza!
Or a tuna sammich...
Chicken Savoyard
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 or 2 egg yolks
1 cup evaporated milk
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup grated swiss cheese
Place the chicken breasts in a large frying pan with a lid. Add stock or wine, onion, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil. Lower heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes. Drain breasts. Strain and set aside 1 cup of the stock.
Place breasts in a shallow dish overlapping slightly.
Melt butter in a saucepan, add flour and stir over medium heat until cooked, but not browned. Add reserved stock and stir until thickened. Add milk, and stir until smooth.
Pour some of the hot mixture into the egg yolks, then return to pot, stirring constantly. DO NOT BOIL. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Place Savoyard sauce over the breasts, pushing some sauce under the chicken. Top with Swiss cheese. Place under broiler until golden and bubbly or bake at 400F for 10 minutes (Do not leave in oven for too long as the sauce will begin to separate.)
Good with rice, salad, and french baguette. Serves 4-5.

Whiskey and coke doesn't seem to be such a great idea for me. Bloody hell.

Should've done that, I probably wouldn't have drunk that much of it.

You're supposed to snort the whiskey, then drink the coke.
Or is it the other way round? ![]()

Eek, just got my two-week warning e-mail for the February issue of the Legion of Super-Heroes APA
How has this year gone so fast?
What this means is I have a week to write about eight pages of text so I can submit it in time. Umm... it might be a good idea to stop wasing time here and get it started...

Went out for a run. Started to slow down then the mp3 player shuffled this at me:
The Crank 2 soundtrack is pretty much ideal music for running to!

Yeah, I've never much liked booze and soda combos, the booze alone is fine.

Just finished booking a last-minute trip to Ireland. My father's sister suffered a massive heart attack on Friday while she was in hospital with lung and kidney infections. They've essentially pulled the plug on her, so I'm taking Dad over to say goodbye.
