Google Maps has its own problems. Just this week, my wife's Android running Google Maps took her in a complete circle (45 minutes) for a trip that should have been 15 minutes. At least Apple's program is relatively new and has some bugs to work out. Google's system should be fairly robust by this point.
Their routing is not always ideal, but the maps work at least. I do wish that the App was as functional as their web version. The thing I love about that one is how you can just click anywhere on the lines and drag them to a new route. If the route it gives by default leads you squirreling through back country? No problem, you can just force a point onto a nearby interstate and it will reroute to take that into account. There doesn't seem to be a way to do that with the app though, any dragging I try to do just moves the page around.

so the surface is crapping out in sales. looks like they're dropping production to a quarter from estimated numbers. if they end up flogging them for like 150 bucks i reckon i'd buy one.

After years with Google, the US military's Santa tracking service is switching to Microsoft Bing.
EDIT: Can someone change the thread title so it's clear that this is the tech thread rather than just a random iPhone thread?

Yes... call it the Tech thread or something and while the mod is at it, close the other thread "tickle me Techno" that is further down the page.
Here is what happens in an Internet minute...

Thanks to this, I'm kind of hoping the world does end on Friday. At the very least I'd like a comet to flatten Disneyland.

I'll be at my mom's house soon and hope to call my cousin who has an Iphone. We are planning for a "face to face" phonecall, then give our phones to our moms so they can talk and see each other and afterwards talk about how cool an experience it was. It is alway nice to get older ones into the 21st century. Isn't technology grand?
