Hello:

In the States there is this cable channel "G4"
and it has this show called Attack of the Show.

Basically the show reports on the latest gadgets,
scifi movies, DVD, some comics, what is happening
on the Internet, interviews and so on.

It is a fun little show. Has anyone else seen it?

I watch it almost every day. It's not the best show, but it's fun and informative to people involved in geek culture. The guest hosts this summer have been pretty crap though, Candace clearly can't hold up her end of the show, and the guests aren't nearly as good as the replacements they had that summer when Munn left. They should just make Hardwick the permanent host, he's a solid choice.

I preferred X-play back in the day. Particularly for gems like this

Nowadays I here it's like Attack of the Show anyway.

They have made X-Play a bit more like Attack, in that they tend to have an interview segment each episode, but it's still a solid show on games and I actually like the interviews.

Ogul, That's good to know, that show helped get me interested in video games as a medium not just an occasional pastime.

Bovy, I'd say 'kids today', but you're a few years older than I am.

I've only ever watched clips of it, mainly because I'm vaguely besotted with Olivia Munn. Can't say I've bothered with it since she left. We don't get G4 here in the UK as far as I'm aware anyway, so, whilst I do think it's sort of cool that the channel exists somewhere, it means very little to me on a personal level.

Attack and X-Play are really the only shows they have (the rest is trash and reruns), but they are good for covering geeky stuff, and they tend to be funny.

Now the shows are ending later on in the month. What happened?

They're collapsing the network and rebranding, trying to make it more like a GQ network or something, which I see no market for. But yeah, there will be no new episodes of either show throughout the month, although AotS will be running retrospective clip shows hosted by Chris Hardwick throughout the month, and then on the 23rd they're airing hour long finale episodes of both shows (which I believe have already been taped). In somewhat related news, Adam Sessler currently has a game-based show on Youtube, maybe some of the other hosts will shake out into similar roles.

They've been showing recap episodes for the past two weeks, and it really does highlight how much better Kevin and Olivia (and Alison) were than the last couple years of the show. They just seemed to do more epic stuff. The show was kind of treading water this past year, especially since the summer. They maintained a lot of the basics, but didn't really innovate anything.

Candice was all right (although she should gain 20 lbs. but I digress...), but Kevin was better with Olivia.
