Aaaaaaand totally neglected the fact Loeb is involved... he single handedly ruined my favourite comic series/Universe so I can easily see him wrecking Marvel's shot at a live action TV. show

I have thought Heroes for Hire would be the best bet for a TV show as it would work on a TV budget and introduce characters that really couldn't have their own movie. I don't believe the reports that this is going to be an Avengers-related TV show - too much opportunity to mess with the movie plans.
The idea seems to be that it would be set in the same world as the Avengers movie, rather than actually related to the Avengers.

The concept reminds me a bit of the direction they went for BIRDS OF PREY. It's not a bad idea, but I'd really want to see a Hulk tee vee series from Marvel before anything else.I have thought Heroes for Hire would be the best bet for a TV show as it would work on a TV budget and introduce characters that really couldn't have their own movie. Considering how Whedon did Avengers, I think there will be a Firefly/Serenity vibe to any Guardians film.
Yeah, but keeping in mind that 1. Serenity had a larger built-in audience than Guardians, 2. Serenity was likely cheaper to produce, as Guardians would have all the effects it had, plus CG characters, 4. Joss Whedon isn't attached to Guardians, was he?, 5. Serenity didn't have a talking raccoon, and 6. Serenity was still considered a flop. Making a new Firefly project? Awesome. Aiming to make a movie "as good as" Serenity? Maybe not wise.
How are guys like Star Lord, Major Victory, Moondragon, Mantis, Quasar and Drax (and maybe Nova) not superheroes? They are more superhero than the Legion of Superheroes.
They aren't more superheroes than Luke Skywalker is though. They have powers, they look weird, but they are sci-fi, not superhero. They just happen to share a continuity with a lot of superheroes. It's like how a proper "The Question" series is more detective story than superhero story.
Drax, Groot, Gamora, Cosmo, Vance Astro, Jack Flag, Rocket Raccoon & Mantis (I think) are all real names, not code names. I guess they're superheroes, but then so are the A Team, Legolas & Gimli, Harry Potter and James Bond.
And "Star Lord" is a title, he could go by "Peter Quill" in the movie.
But of course, there are many subtileties... I think we could all agree that Thor is a superhero... But could we say the same about Heimdall, Odin, or Syf? They are gods... And they have godly powers and god-like behaviour... But then, Thor is also a god... So basically he can be or not a superhero.
I think Thor is a superhero because he behaves like one, stopping crime and saving Earth and all that. The other Asgardians aren't superheroes, because they don't get up to that stuff(not often at least). I think that if the Guardian spent an extended amount of time on Earth, fighting supervillains and stuff, then they would have to be considered superheroes during that phase of their life.
I tentatively agree with you on the New Gods and GLC, Mr. Miracle and BArda are superheroes for the same reason Thor is, but not all of them are. Likewise, the human GLs are all superheroes, Salaak, Ismot, and the vast majority of the other GLs are not.
For me, it is like taking the X-men, throwing them into a starship and then claiming they are not superheroes, but science fiction adventurers. Especially when, for me, most of the stories I've read with the Guardians have included outright space superheroes like Quasar, Captain Marvel and Nova and even a few obvious superheroes like The Thing.
But then "mutants" don't have to be superheroes either. Was Carrie a superhero? Firestarter? The kid in The Sixth Sense? The one in The Shining?
Yeah, the GoG are superheros, especially insofar as everybody who doesn't have a 1000k post count on a comic book messageboard is concerned.
I think that as far as anyone without a 1000K post count on a comic message board is concerned, the GotG aren't actually a thing. Marvel can frame them however they choose, and if they choose to frame them a certain way, they shouldn't be considered Superheroes.

I actually think that She-Hulk could work really well as a comedic TV show, sort of Ally McBeal with superpowers.

I think the reveal that Magneto is with the X-Men and is now the one in a wheelchair could go over very well if it was Sir Ian in the role. Not much of the original Days Of Future Past characters were on the team during the time of the films. I suppose they could have a couple of flashbacks to them being wiped out. Of course, the First Class cast, if they even carry over any from the first film, hardly bear any resemblance to the X-Men of the comic book DOFP story either, so I could see them just going with the same basic premise of the story, and not actually adapting it too exactly.Synger acted very coy when asked about "crossovers" using Days of Future Past as a springboard, but man I'd love it if this film could bring back the cast from the first three X-Men flicks.

I heard Mads Mikkelson was the first choice but had to drop out?
Great replacement. Eccleston doesn't hold back in these big roles.

Yeah, Mikkelson is playing Hannibal Lecter in the new NBC show. Shame that they lost him, but hopefully Eccleston will be good.

I don't think there's any reason to doubt it. Eccleston has done a few of these roles now. He never gives less than 100%.Yeah, Mikkelson is playing Hannibal Lecter in the new NBC show. Shame that they lost him, but hopefully Eccleston will be good.

What other big screen roles has Eccleston had. Last one I can remember is his part in the firsst GI Joe movie and that was... well, less said about that the better.
28 Days Later is the main one that comes to mind.

I've never even heard of The Seeker, let alone forgotten it.
You're better off for it. It's an adaptation of The Dark Is Rising and it is not good.
