Ep two of The Walking Dead - like the first one I played through it in one sitting. Plenty of "Holy shit!!!" moments throughout too.

Damn right here are! Every time I play this I seem to be in the room with my brother and the same friend so we all wind each other up and make each other tense as hell playing it. I've not had a proper shot yet since I let my mate have the first go so I'm keen to see how the game changes.

And for those that've played it:

Okay, this episode of The Walking Dead game was brutal. Much tenser than the first instalment. I found it worked a lot better as a game too. Flowed better, with far less waiting around for stuff to happen. Maybe I'm just getting used to it. Also seemed much longer than the last one. I can't wait for the next one!

So, don't play the Amazing Spider-Man movie tie in game if you haven't seen the movie / want the film spoiled. Turns out it's a continuation of the film's storyline and the game seems to reveal a few pretty major plot points from the movie.

How's the game though?

The game is pretty good. The combat system is similar to that in the Arkham Asylum / City games and it's pretty easy to string some large combos together when taking on a big group of enemies. The free roaming web slinging side looks damned cool. It's a different camera angle from all the other free roaming games and it's much closer to the player and a bit higher - it leads to a more cinematic experience and looks a bit more stylish than the older games. The camera is a bit of a pain in the arse during indoor bits though, especially if you get backed up in a corner or occasionally when you're manoeuvring from wall to roof.

Who are the people who are clamoring for indoor sections of Spider-Man games? I don't even like it when he goes indoors in the comics!

I guess the developers of this game are trying to merge the styles of the old free roaming movie tie in Spidey games with the more linear go-from-point-A-to-point-B-while-punching-dudes Shattered Dimensions / Edge of Time games. All in all it works, it's just every now and then I'll find myself swearing at the camera.

Sweet, I'm pretty keen to get The Amazing Spider-Man. Some of the alternate suits are pretty cool, like the Kaine version of Scarlet Spider suit.

Can't make up my mind about this inverted version of the Future Foundation suit though. It;s like Negative Zone/FF/Venom:

I love the idea that Spidey has a wardrobe full of alternate costumes exactly like that.

But where's the Amazing Bag-Man outfit? :)

I'm positive a past Spidey game had that as an alternative costume. Can't for the life of me remember what though.

I'm pretty sure the old Playstation game from about ten years ago had it. I'm sure it must have showed up in other games, too - it's a pretty popular and well-loved alternate costume for Spidey.

Edit: sure enough, here's some footage from that old Spidey game:

I LOVED THAT GAME!

The Bombastic Bag Man was in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions too (and Edge of Time if you had a Shattered Dimensions save on your hard-drive while playing it).

If you do get a hold of the latest game here's a guide (can confirm it works - I just unlocked them all) for all the alternative suits - http://www.xbox360ac...ad.php?t=376457

The game has got a couple extra awesome bonus points - Bruce Campbell lends his voice to a very minor character! Groovy!

Ha, I like the idea of the Party Hat Suit that's supposed to be released on his Anniversary. Cheers, Bruce.

Completed Prototype 2. Running, jumping, swooping, stabing, punching and generally fucking shit up - all the action is pretty dammned fun. Only problem is the non existent story: you meet someone, do tasks for them, then they betray you so you eat them - rinse and repeat ad nauseam.

Now for Mass Effect 3...

Got a couple hours of Mass Effect 3 under my belt. It has been ages since I play ME2 - has the camera been changed for this game? I can't help but feel it's a bit closer to the action.
