Hey all! It's been a while since I've been on the board much...having an eighteen month old baby doesn't leave much time for the interwebs beyond Facebook...especially not when you're also writing comics!

Jesus E. Lee was an idea cooked up by my good friend Nick Justus, a recent graduate of the Kubert School and fellow Fistful of Comics alum (as the inker of my short story "Illmet at the Drake and Griffin"). After I gave Nick some ideas I thought he could use for the book he invited me on board as writer. Issue 2 is almost completely pencilled and I just delivered the first draft of the script for issue 3 early this morning.

So without further ado I give you Jesus E. Lee:

We have a date for the release of the black and white Inkpot Edition of issue 2: 7/11/12. I will post a link as soon as Nick puts the book up for sale.

The B&W "Inkpot Edition" will have 22 pages by Nick Justus and your's truly and a back cover pin up by Tom Mandrake (beliveve me it's cool enough to be worth the price just by itself!).

He just does one page but boy what a page it is.

Well we're working out a deal I can't really talk about for four issues with the option to maybe do more if the book does well. If that doesn't work we may continue self publishing thru ComiXpress but right now our focus is on getting issues 3 and 4 as awesome as possible. There are certainly other stories we have to tell.

Eventually there will also be a trade collecting the first four issue arc. Stay tuned!

If you like traditional physical copies of your comics you can buy the book here. I should warn you that the Tom Mandrake pinup is apparently digital exclusive!

While I agree that Nick's work is awesome and needs no embellishment the book will actually be in color. Issue 3 is currently being worked on. I'll post the preview pages in color as soon as I see them!
