The John Terry stuff is on the BBC news at this very moment and I was trying to guess what ******* and **** meant. Guess that clears that up!

It's interesting how much is really about reputation. The maximum fine if found guilty for Terry is 2 and a half grand. Loose change for him.

I am shocked to discover John Terry is only 31. He does not look it.

Wayne Rooney looked 42 when he was 17!

Hello:

I was going to start a thread on HDTV but I googled
for it and got a nice faq site.

One less thread in the Pub.

I'm planning an "End of the World holiday" in December 2012, a week or so maybe from dec 20th to dec 27th to include Christmas. I think Patmos in Greece where John wrote the Book of Revelations might be a suitable spot.

That's a brilliant idea, Arjan! I'll be spending the end of the world with my dad in London to celebrate the 90th birthday of his sister, my marvelous aunt Dora.

Nice!

Greece is cheap as dirt that time of the year, most of the islands are deserted in the winter. I have to look into the ferry connections to Patmos as there's no airport.

If phobia is an irrational fear, what's an irrational hatred? Is there a word for that? Aside from "intolerance".

Well, phobia being used for both fear and hatred in "homophobia" or "xenophobia" may suggest that there's no commonly used term for that.

There's also mis- as a prefix, though, as in misanthropy or misogyny.

Maybe I'll come up with a neologism then.

Phobia + loathing... "lobia"? Hmm, needs work.
