Murphy's laws...

If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong
Everything takes longer than you think.
The chance of the buttered side of the bread falling face down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.
A valuable dropped item will always fall into an inaccessible place (a diamond ring down the drain, for example) - or into the garbage disposal while it is running.
After you bought a replacement for something you've lost and searched for everywhere, you'll find the original.
No matter how long or how hard you shop for an item, after you've bought it, it will be on sale somewhere cheaper.
The other line always moves faster.
More ( a LOT more) laws can be found at:

The only Murphy's laws that matter are:
"Serve the public trust"
"Protect the innocent"
"Uphold the law"
(Classified)
Is it the second movie where he's given lots of new directives? There are a few in-jokes as they all scroll past the screen at one point, such as "Don't bother attending Orion meetings!" - Orion being the production company, who were apparently giving the SFX crew a lot of shit at the time.

Also the Pub is the only area of the board where thread drift is allowed, if not encouraged. I am very good at it.

The computer laws section in that link is a long
page, but funny.
I figured you guys might get a kick about that law
that as soon as you buy something, the next day
will be another upgrade to it.

We are as thick as shit. It's something you'll have to put up with.

Murphy's Law is a song by Led Zeppelin. It's the B side to "Let's Spend the Night Together."

It was also a crap Charles Bronson movie. And a TV show starring Jimmy Nesbitt.
They should repeat that Steven Moffat Jekyll & Hyde thing that Nesbitt was in. I liked that.

Hello:
I retract some low blows, hitting nerves, and
hurting some feelings here in my posts.
I also retract coming across as imposing
on others.
Sometimes I get a little mad when a thread
derails or does not go the way I intended it.
I take back overreacting.

One day, Al. It only took one day.
