I was on a Katzenjammer gig on Friday instead of watching the game. It was an open air thing, which was exactly right, and it was fantastic -great music, awesome show, and it took me about 5 minutes to fall in love with every single one of those girls.
(Videos not mine, but taken by someone who was a bit closer to the stage than me.)
Yesterday, we had graduation festivities at work.
Today, I am very tired, and tomorrow I'm going to Hastings with a bunch of 7th-graders for a week. And then, the school year's about done, which is a good thing, because so am I.

Heh, that looks great. I don't think I would have held out as long as 5 minutes
That bass (?) balalaika is insane.

It was just amazing how they kept switching instruments and singing parts. Incredible show.
I also liked the support bands - Valkyrien Allstars and Me and My Drummer:

I'm trying to avoid the F1 results at the moment while we visit the in-laws. When I get home I'll watch it on the iplayer while I do some more report writing.
The first half was boring. That's all I'll say.

Hm. Brave could quite possibly be Juli's first Pixar movie in the theatre. He's seen Cars on DVD with friends, but other than that, we've been keeping him away from those movies as yet and more concentrated on old Disney films and the like. But with this being in the theatres now...
Yeah Cerys is 3 and a half which is pretty young but she concentrates really well watching DVDs at home so I took the risk. It may be girls are better because she was far better behaved than her cousin Peter who I took to see Spider-Man 3 and yes that film is too long but he was fidgeting and talking from the start and he was 6.
She passed the Mayo and Kermode code of conduct (well she did shout out 'he's very funny, yes?" when the Pixar table lamp appeared but technically that's before the film starts so I discount that one).

Does anyone appreciate Swedish kids TV of the 70s?I also think that if I start him too soon on stuff like Pixar and Spider-Man, he'll never be able to appreciate less flashy movies, like the classic Disney cartoons or, you know, Swedish children's TV from the seventies.

I haven't found it matters. I'll show her Tangled or Dumbo or Iron Giant or Up or old 70s TV cartoons like The Clangers and Ivor the Engine and she doesn't show any great preference. I think they care more about the characters and stories than the flashy stuff.

Please. Who doesn't remember this fondly?
Same goes for Czech children's TV of the seventies/eighties.

I just got back from seeing Alan Cumming in Macbeth. It was absolutely phenomenal.
Saw him in Threepenny Opera on Broadway a few years back in a cast with Jim Dale, Cyndi Lauper (!), Ana Gasteyer, and Nellie McKay, and he was a brilliant standout. AND he can sing!!
While my wife is at a baby shower, I spent the day replacing our bedroom window shades with new curtain rods and curtains; cleaning mildew from the garage door; trimming the bushes along the side of my house; and other sundry duties to keep me occupied until she returns.

Got back from the hospital a little while ago. Had to bring in there as he was feeling weak and having trouble breathing. Doctor thinks it might be angina so they will keep him in overnight. He and mom were supposed to be driving across country (to go back home) starting this coming Saturday. Hopefully he'll be feeling better by then.
that had to have been scary, craig. hope all is well.

Your solution to waking up in the middle of the night is to load yourself with sugar?
