New relationship thread.

Al, this could be an ideal place to mention that girl from Yale that you've begrudgingly kept quiet about ;)

THIS NEW THREAD COMMITMENT ONLY LASTS FOR 11 PAGES!

As for the subject heading, I hate those condescending assholes who corner you in a pub or restaurant with a bucket of flowers and try selling them to you when you just want to have a nice evening with your other half.

Those flower selling guys, whil rare, are a pain. There's also the fact I don't really think a half dead rose you bought off of a scabby dodger in the pub is the best way to express one's love...

I miss people in pubs selling seafood from a basket.

I don't miss people in pubs selling roses from a bucket.

I tried to find the clip but the thread reminds me of that episode of Phoenix Nights where they have a romantic montage and he's sat in a restaurant and a man comes up with 'a rose for the lady?' and he answers 'fuck off".

Hello:

Is this the thread where it's happening?

Anyway, there was a book out years ago in the 90's
called The Rules, which had some guidelines for women
on dating, relationships, etc. One of the rules was not to
accept a Saturday night date from a guy asking you after
Wednesday, because it meant that you were just an
afterthought.

Then there was another book "He's not that into you"
giving girls some hints that the guy isn't that interested
if he doesn't call you after a certain day etc.

Of course there are many more books on dating, relationships
guy codes. etc.

So, do you go by any rule or code when it comes to dating,
asking someone out, etc.?

Reese Witherspoon is starring in a Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus movie. I'm sure we will all learn a lot from it.

I thought that rule stops applying after age 12.

There is a difference between the US and Europe. The
US is into books, psychologists, and relationship experts.

I remember when "The Rules" was the fad of the day and some women I knew were mad because the book wasn't working for them. Turns out, a lot of guys had also read the book used it as a way to avoid those women.

Al - I wouldn't take it that Bruce adequately represents the 500million people in Europe.

No no, I think he does. I think tarring everyone on a particular continent with the same brush is an entirely wise and sensible thing to do.

Bruce speaks for Europe, Al speaks for America. Trust me, It's the way forward.
