Also, I felt the characters should have been a little older. No idea how old the actors are in real life, but they looked 18.

The two leads are 28 and 23

Like Crazy. I didn’t think I’d like this movie, and I thought the subject matter would hit too close to home, but I liked it. It wasn’t amazing or anything, but it was good. The ending scene was perfect, but all the back and forth throughout the film really pissed me off. Either they love each other and want to make it work or they don’t, I don’t see why they had to keep playing games. Also, I felt the characters should have been a little older. No idea how old the actors are in real life, but they looked 18.

6.8/10 (to be specific)

I enjoyed Like Crazy based solely on the performances of the two leads. They had very believable chemistry. And the whole game playing thing? Well, it's not like I haven't known couples just like that. But my biggest problem with the movie is that it didn't have a very natural flow. It would jump from one big moment in their relationship to the next, and I think that cost some needed character development. I mean, I would have liked to have gotten to know Jennifer Lawrence's character a bit. But whatever.

i just didn't get how they could have been so in love, and then not.

I never saw them as falling out of love, more just life getting in the way and maintaining the relationship was far more work than they've imagined. They grew apart because of it. But were still unable to ever really let each other go. Even if letting go might have been the best thing for both of them.

I am watching Waiting For Guffman. I haven't seen this film in a long time. Lots of people in it I didn't know were in it.

I always forget how much I love Episodes until I'm actually watching it. Weirdly, I don't get excited to see it at all during the week but I always have a grin on my face the whole time a new episode is on.

LIMBO?! :O

Have you no compassion, Sir? All those poor words will be lost in time, like tears in the rain... And what if we ever need to find out what makes someone attractive?

Yeah, me too. Loved the Gunther cameo, too.

I missed it this week. Luckily it's repeated this evening. It's one of those shows where you can't help but like all the characters, even when they're behaving badly. As well as the bromance between Matt and Sean, I love Carol and Beverly's friendship. Watching them get drunk/stoned together is always entertaining.

Glad to see I'm not the only one enjoying Episodes.

i especially liked the scene with Matt's stalker Labia early on, although I'm wondering what they're setting up with that. Same with Sean's YCOMT pen - Beverly know he slept with Morning, what has he got to hide other than it being a bit tacky?

(Not literally. Ew.)

I loved the episode before with Labia too:

"She was one of those 'Make A Wish' foundation kids. But...she didn't die."

Oh and Merk: "It's her birthday today, send her a fucking something."

War Horse. A nice film, a little over sugared at times and totally implausible plot wise, but overall beautifully shot and touching. Also, horses are rad.

I understand your viewpoint sir, but sometimes drastic measures have to be taken when a plague of this magnitude perpetuated itself into this thread. You sir can have the compassion, but I, on the other hand, have to be more pragmatic...:)

Watched "The Killing" finale last night. NIce resolution, but this arc just felt so drawn out . Curious to see how season 3 can redeem itself from the flaws of the past season.

Enjoying A Town Called Eureka this season. They're sticking to the same old formula but it's a formula that works so who cares?

The Jack/Fargo body swap was hilarious, with both actors hamming it up "being" the other person.

Yeah Eureka is definitely empty calories but enjoyable for what is it. Sad to see it ending.

Finally saw THE GREY, which was terrific. Not much more you can say about it.

Also, saw the old Sword and Sandal "epic" HERCULES IN THE HAUNTED WORLD which is hilariously bad, but as it is directed by Mario Bava, it has more style and heart than CLASH/WRATH OF THE TITANS, 300 and IMMORTALS combined.

Watched two films last night:

Arthur (the remake with Russell Brand, not the Dudley Moore one, sadly) - this was pretty dire, and I think the failure of the film rests pretty squarely on Brand's shoulders: he's just not much of an actor, and struggles to make his character sympathetic whilst also having very little sense of comic timing to deliver the gags. If nothing else, it made me realise how important it is for a comic actor to be able to (a) Act, and (b) Be funny.

The Guard - this was much better, an oddball Irish comedy/action/crime thriller starring Brendon Gleeson as an unconventional Irish policeman who gets caught up in an international drugs bust. Don Cheadle is surprisingly great, essentially playing the straight man role, and there are loads of great digs at the conventions of US police thrillers. There are also some pretty swich touches of directorial flair that make the film look amazing, contrasting realistic windswept local landscapes with some psychedelic colourful interiors. Well worth a watch.
