I posted a good luck message to Greece as they need some cheering up. 4 minutes later they are 2 goals down.

My luck powers are somewhat lacking it seems.

Espn is reporting 5000 Russian fans organized a march on Wroclaw but were stopped by Policja and told to disperse.

With these tournaments there is always an increase in the people playing football outside here...there's a field here where lots of kids play football, and their parents are now also coming out and joining them, but they forgot that they're all hideously out of shape. It's fun to see someone kick a ball to somebody else and seeing that other person cursing when the ball misses him by a few meter which means he has to walk like over twenty meter to retrieve the ball...they're clinically incapable of running, and it takes a few minutes before they're back with the ball. I will laugh for days if Rangers get voted out of the SPL.

Well done Poland, they were great against the Russians. Hopefully the draw might calm some of the expected post-match rioting down a bit.

I have Russia in one sweepstake and England in the other one.

At first I was ok with at least having Russia, but now with Hilary Clinton's Cold War baiting comments last night ...I may partially be on the wrong side

England to go out after a penalty shootout about half to two thirds of the way through.

Bye bye Holland. Germany efficiency has crushed you.

And good attempt by Denmark, you nearly got a point.

Nope. If Denmark loses to Germany, and if we beat Portugal by at least two goals, we're still through.

that's what I said, Arjan, that's what I said.

I'm sure Denmark will try and help keep the Dutch's hopes alive, but seriously...2 up against Portugal? They've got, like 5 colours on their flag, man, no way you can beat them.

Ha no I agree, it looks hopeless, but the Dutch television commentators are saying we mustn't despair! There is hope!

I don't care either way. But damn, they played really bad.

Van Persie's goal was a stunning piece of work, but he seemed to be the only Dutchman awake on the pitch. Van Bommel and Robben might as well not have been there at all.

I have hopes for them still, though. Portugal is too volatile a team to consider elimination a sure thing.
