Damn these deluxe edition reissues of albums I already own, I'm too susceptible to advertising to not buy them when I see them being sold for £10. I keep walking past a shop that sells them and can never help myself. Today I got Dirty by Sonic Youth, I think the addition of numerous B-sides and early recordings I did not own have made the purchase worth it, but the original record itself is not remastered like most of these releases are.

I got the new version of Dirty as well. Personally I think it's their best album, which is why I didn't mind buying a new copy. The sound quality is a bit better, if not just louder.

I prefer Daydream Nation and Goo, I've also got a personal affiliation to A Thousand Leaves. They do have an outstanding body of work though, there's a lot of appreciation for them out there, yet they're still drastically under-appreciated, I'd rank them way above other bands like Nirvana, The Stooges and Ramones, though sacrilegious that may seem to some. I'm very upset that it appears they've called it a day, by all accounts they put on a hell of a show right up until the last one, 1991: The Year Punk Broke seems the closest I'll ever get to seeing them now.

It's unreal how much music they've created. I tried to complete my collection but there are just too many, and if you try to include the experimental stuff it's just impossible (and expensive). It makes me feel old when I think about how long they've been around.

They're one of those bands I've never actually liked but I've always respected.

Not even a week with my new credit card and I've already spent almost $200 with it. Most recent purchase? Die Mannequin's new EP "Danceland" on iTunes. Love it.

Much as I love the Hitch-Hiker's in all its forms, I think the original radio series is my favourite iteration.

If you're in the UK, try and get to the Radio Show Live. You'll get a whole new appreciation for the series when you see how Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are made and why Simon Jones is being attacked by a man with an umbrella.

Agreed. I saw it on Saturday in Glasgow and it was a fantastic experience (which inspired me to finally make the above purchase).

The light coming in from the window and the fact my phone's camera is a bit shit.
