Hail to the Germans! Or, more accurately, amazon.de!

I've a German DVD set of Castle series 2 and have been watching the price fall on series 3. Not only that, but the series 2 German edition beats the crap out of the US Region 1 DVD I have for series 1 that somehow plays OK on a Region 2 PS3 - how? No idea.

So, having spotted season 3 was done to 20 Euro, I decided to order that and series 1, figuring I might as well upograde, as the subs on the German DVDs beat the US ones. Site said despatch in 2-3 days, just over £30 for the 2 series including posting - bargain!

Got the order despatch a couple of days ago and the DVDs look to have turned up yesterday! What the fuck? I'm not used to things arriving that fast, especially not when ordering from another country! So, have just found them, tried 'em out on the PS£ and damn, they play wonderfully!

So I can now finish the 2nd season of what is one of my favourite series!

AND I still have birthday prezzies to open! It's shaping up to be a good day!

not to encourage a stereotype or anything, but really, Ben, you're surprised that the Germans are efficient?

I got Longbox #2 today.

There is also a compound longbow behind my bookcase. I have no arrows, but I guess if I whack somebody hard and repeatedly with that thing, It'd hurt.

"Hey John Kerry! Why the long face?"

If one has a longing and satiates it in a brief time; it it a shortling?

To this degree? Yeah, expected arrival date was June 11, not June 1!

just got back from work and grocery shopping, and am pleased with myself for actually working on a paper before the night before it's due. currently contemplating whether i should make myself something fancy for breakfast, or whether to just shove some raspberries in my face.

Funnily enough, I mostly order DVDs via play.com.

For some reason Christian, they're taking ages to release Castle in the UK, so the continental R2 DVDs for season 3 get sold for £35-45!

I drew the short straw and had to work the weekend of the 4 day weekend the UK is having this week; however of the options, I got the slightly longer straw - I've just worked Saturday and Sunday, and get Monday and Tuesday off. Saturday and Sunday are just a normal weekend really. The true chaos is going to be Monday and Tuesday, when I shall be cheerily drinking beer somewhere.

Oh, and I had a 'blink and you'll miss him' cameo appearance in this week's episode of the documentary based in my work on BBC2 - glaring at the camera waiting for them to bugger off so we could get on with the proper work :)

Ha! I imagine it must be hugely frustrating having a camera crew clogging up your place of work, especially when it's as a hectic and important one as yours Mike.
