@Aiannucci
I'm delirious to say that yesterday we finished filming all 7 episodes of the new series of The Thick Of It.

The show has become some sort of live version of an Adult Swim show though, so I wonder if it wouldn't be best if they moved it there =P

Dan Harmon has already signed a deal to co-create a show for Adult Swim (who do have several live action shows, like Childrens Hospital, NTSF:SD:SUV::, and Eagleheart).

Yeah I did check that and saw it was the actors across the series. Still very impressive, with the BBC budget cuts it seems appealing to the inner bard of the actors must have held sway over the pay packet.

R.I.P. Kathryn Joosten
Character actress Kathryn Joosten, who played the snoop Karen McCluskey on Desperate Housewives and the president’s secretary on The West Wing, died today in Los Angeles after battling lung cancer for years. She was 72. She won two Emmys for the Desperate Housewives role. Her character also battled cancer and passed away in the series finale in May. In addition to her other major role as Mrs. Landingham on The West Wing, she had a recurring gig in Dharma & Greg and guest starred in Ally McBeal and Scrubs. Joosten, who had a career as a psychiatric nurse before turning to acting, was also active in animal rights causes.

Sad news. If there was a person who watched The West Wing and didn't like Delores Landingham, I don't want to know them.
I actually cried a little when Mrs. Landingham died, and I am not ashamed to admit it!
Kathryn Joosten was a great actress and always the best thing about Desperate Housewives. It is sad to see her go, but I am glad I got to see her so regularly for such a long time.

"Spartacus" is ending? That sound you hear is a loud "Nooooo!" from the collective consciousness of the "Spartacus" fandom.
Starz has revealed that the next season of the hit gladiator drama will be its last. Season 3 of the show, titled "Spartacus: War of the Damned," will arrive in January 2013, and once those 10 episodes are done airing, that's it. No more twisted betrayals among Romans and their oppressed gladiators and slaves; no more sweaty, muscular warriors wielding an impressive array of sharp implements; no more epic battles featuring creative dismemberments and oceans of blood.
It's shocking but true: "Spartacus," which garnered a passionately devoted following and impressive ratings for Starz, will be over for good by the spring of 2013.
"Steven DeKnight, Rob Tapert, Josh Donen and Sam Raimi have made one of the most groundbreaking shows we have ever seen," Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said in a statement. "We are in agreement with our partners in the decision to conclude the story after ‘War of the Damned,’ as we believe it is the best way to maintain the integrity of the series and secure its legacy. While everyone may know the fate of Spartacus, we believe this will be a spectacular season that will startle, amaze and honor the legions of fans.”

I'm somewhat surprised, but I'm glad they're not stretching it out too long.

In Fuller’s Hannibal, FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) enlists renowned psychiatrist Dr. Lecter for his assistance solving crimes, not realizing he’s secretly the most monstrous killer of them all. Fuller recently spoke to EW.com about the series.
“It’s before he was incarcerated, so he’s more of a peacock,” Fuller says. “There is a cheery disposition to our Hannibal. He’s not being telegraphed as a villain. If the audience didn’t know who he was, they wouldn’t see him coming. What we have is Alfred Hitchcock’s principle of suspense — show the audience the bomb under the table and let them sweat when it’s going to go boom. So the audience knows who Hannibal is so we don’t have to overplay his villainy. We get to subvert his legacy and give the audience twists and turns.”
Now that Hannibal‘s two starring roles are cast, NBC is expected to quickly fill the supporting parts. Hannibal is a 13-episode series that will likely premiere sometime next season. Martha De Laurentis (Red Dragon), Sara Colleton (Dexter), Jesse Alexander (Lost), and Katie O’Connell serve as executive producers along with Fuller.
Not sure how it'll work as a series, but I'm looking forward to seeing Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy together.

Showtime has given series orders to a pair of star-studded dramas, picking up both "Masters of Sex" and "Ray Donovan."
Both "Masters of Sex" and "Ray Donovan" have been given 12 episode orders and will film in Los Angeles with yet-to-be-determined 2013 premiere dates.
"Masters of Sex" stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as noted human sexuality scholars William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Michelle Ashford adapted the pilot from Thomas Maier's "Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How To Love," with "Shakespeare in Love" director John Madden at the helm.
The "Masters of Sex" cast also includes Caitlin Fitzgerald, Nicholas D'Agosto and Teddy Sears, while Beau Bridges and Margo Martindale guest star in the pilot.
"Ray Donovan" was created by Ann Biderman ("Southland") and features Liev Schreiber as a professional trouble shooter who can fix everybody's problems but his own. The cast around Schreiber includes Elliot Gould, Jon Voight, Dash Mihok, Eddie Marsan, Paula Malcomson, Kate Moennig, Steve Bauer, Johnathon Schaech and Peter Jacobson.
Blurbs Showtime Entertainment President David Nevins, "'Ray Donovan' and 'Masters of Sex,' each in their own distinctive ways, represent the caliber of programming we want to bring to our subscribers. Both series are ambitious and expansive, and feature great writing and great acting. I'm so excited for viewers to experience these two new dramas, which I believe will prove to be fantastic complements to our current slate of programming."
I'm looking forward to Masters of Sex for Caplan and Sheen. I've no idea what the series will actually be like though.
