ACIII looked lovely, although the new wilderness traversing capabilities seem a bit random, like if you know where you're going you can make your character look like a total badass, while if you don't you'll end up falling like a mook every other second.
The ZombiU trailer was gorgeous, but gave no idea what the actual game might be.
Watch Dogs looks pretty damned cool. It's like Person of Interest: The Game, with a dash of AC and DX in it. Lovely visual style.

The other big game of the event was Beyond, which looked like an excellent CG movie, very well acted, especially since Ellen Page had no lines during that initial scene and yet still conveyed a lot of personality, but then, we have no clue what the actual game there is. My guess at this point is that perhaps Ellen's character is entirely AI driven, and the player controls her ghost sidekick that assists her.
The reveal of the ACIII pirates gameplay was pretty awesome, although I could easily see that portion fo the game becoming frustrating if it's too difficult, like the cart racing in AC:R. I'm also very excited about AC: Liberation for Vita, but I don't have a Vita and that doesn't look like the killer ap that would get me to buy one. They'd better damned well announce a serious price drop by the holidays.
The JK Rowling book thing looked like a lot of fun, but probably not more than an afternoon's diversion for an adult, and again, not worth the capital investment. That's the problem with Sony, I think. They have a lot of potential, IF money is no object. So many of their creative options rely on buying the most expensive system on the market, and then maybe one or two of the most expensive handhelds on the market to use as touchscreen controllers, and then an Eye, and maybe one to four motion controllers, and maybe one to four navigator controllers for it, etc. Yeah, the other consoles have optional hardware upgrades, but not nearly as many.

Last of Us looks good. One thing I'd really love on games like that though is if they did a trailer in which two different players played the exact same portion of gameplay, just to see how it's possible to do it differently, because with so many of the newer games like Last of Us, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed III, Watch Dogs, etc. it's hard to tell how much control the player has, verses how much he's just playing through a pre-scripted sequence in exactly the "right" way, and his only other option was to do it "wrong" and fail. Still, it was a lovely game world, I have a real thing for urban decay.

Beyond is interesting, but until I get to see some actual game play I probably won't get too excited about it. Not enough information on it yet.
The storybook thing looks neat and should be fun for kids, but I'd get bored with that pretty quickly.

The Smart Glass is brilliant, it's basically the WiiU and the Vita-crossplay, only without needing to buy any new hardware* (for most people who have at least one tablet/smart device in the house). It doesn't sound nearly as robust as either of their competitors when it comes to game interaction (like you won't be able to play full games on the tablet), but it does seem to offer the core benefit to core gamers, the ability to run "GUI" applications for various games that allow for more flexible and informative feedback. The only downside here is that it is still a purely optional experience, unlike the WiiU tablet, so most games will likely not take full advantage of it, since that would leave players that don't have it at too big a disadvantage. I can't see Nintendo bringing the thunder for WiiU in a way that will recover from this.
Of course, when he said "Internet Explorer is coming to the Xbox!" I just wanted the crowd to shout "What about Firefox?"
The voice commands in Madden seemed great too, if you play those games, which I don't, but it was still pretty impressive.
*this was unclear, there might be a hardware attachment required, but hopefully it would be under $50

Oh, definitely, I'm far from committing to it as a game, but it was gorgeous as a CG movie. The dev was on G4 after the show, and while he was vague it sounds like you do fully control Page's character AND the ghost, and it was billed as more of an action game than Heavy Rain was, so less QTE, hopefully.

Dishonored looks magnificent, a steampunk first person stealth game with all sorts of crazy super powers? Yes please, and make it a double. The graphics are a little basic, but not in an ugly way, more in an artfully subdued way like WoW or Borderlands. The gameplay just looks nuts, chock full of crazy abilities like time stopping, teleporting, possession, etc.
Defiance doesn't look too bad for what it is. The FPS action looked reasonably tight, and it follows the same multiplayer philosophy as Guild Wars 2, in that numerous players can just swarm an active event, rather than having to deal with guild politics and organizing a per-arranged raid group. They also give you a jet-powered quad-bike at level 1, so that's pretty awesome.

Watched the 1313 footage, not impressed. The graphics capabilities were great, sure, but that's on a bleeding edge PC so I would expect disappointment playing it on any hardware I'll actually own, so what's more important is the gameplay, and it just seems standard Uncharted crap, "push forward" scrambling around gameplay inter-spliced with cover-shooter stuff, there was nothing new there, the exact same scenes could have been done with Nathan Drake on a train or plan, and probably have been for all I know. Also, the blasters being used didn't seem to have the Star Wars sound/visuals down like TOR does, for what that's worth.

That's a pretty exciting teaser. The game looks amazing, and I like the concept behind how the game works. Definitely one I'll be looking forward to.Ubi's Watch_Dogs looks amazing.

The concept of an assassin’s guild is back, and while we don’t know how or if Connor will recruit and train allies, we do know they are capable of doing more than killing now. With a quick menu selection, Connor was able to summon assassin’s dressed as British soldiers, who then placed our hero in handcuffs to lead him past a military checkpoint. Ubisoft called it the ‘Wookie Maneuver’ though we’re sure that’s not the official term.

According to IGN, The Last of Us won't be out until 2013. Between this and Bioshock: Infinite, 2013 is looking pretty good for video games, but what about the rest of 2012?
Yeah, and Ni no Kuni was also pushed to 2013, The Last Guardian has disappeared entirely. Those were two more of my most anticipated games this year. Lot of good gaming in 2012 went up in smoke, but that always seems to happen.
There are still several games I'm looking forward to, but at this point many of them are on 3DS.
