Ha, yeah, I did think of adding a similar disclaimer to my post but Rockstar are pretty much the only company whos games are day release buys for me.

I just watched an NHK piece about an upcoming game called Tokyo Jungle that looks like a lot of fun. It was created as the result of a Sony try-out for new creators, and the premise is that humans have vanished for some reason and nature has retaken Tokyo (including releasing all the zoo animals, apparently), and you take on the role of one of dozens of different varieties of animals with the goal of surviving and thriving. You need to find food to eat (including other animals if you're a carnivore) to maintain stamina, and run away from tougher enemies, mark off and control territory, and earn the right to mate with females and breed a new generation. It looks really crazy and interesting, and the variety of animals run form a variety of household dogs and cats, to deer and ostriches, to lions and bears, to even baby chicks.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

DOOM 3 BFG Edition is the ultimate collection of groundbreaking games that defined the first person shooter. It includes DOOM, DOOM 2, DOOM 3, and DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil, as well as the 'Lost Mission.' All DOOM 3 content has been re-mastered for PlayStation 3 in stunning 3D for an even more terrifying FPS experience.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

Looks good to me. I never finished my PC playthrough of Doom 3, and the fact that it includes the first two games as well seals the deal for me. I hope it'll be budget-priced from the outset - but if not, I can wait.

A lot of the recent HD remake collections seem to have been mid priced (£30) when released so I cant imagine Doom 3 being a full price release.

I can't help but wonder if this means id software are releasing this to test the waters for Doom 4...

I wouldn't be surprised. Resurrecting old franchises like this seems to be a successful way to get money out of thirtysomethings like me at the moment.

I'm really looking forward to Sleeping Dogs. Surprised it still seems to be flying under the radar.

Why does DC keep making the mistake of licensing their fighting games out to Not-Capcom?

Yeah, they've definitely stolen the whole "press forward while a movie plays" element from Uncharted, but then Uncharted stole liberally from Tomb Raider so fair's fair. Personally I'm more concerned than impressed at this point. It looks like it might be an interesting movie, but it doesn't look like there would be much for me to do.

read up some on the new Tekken Tag game due out later this year. it has clothing that reacts to the environment. so...kit out the girls in white tops and choose a stage where it rains?

(more seriously, I'd love it if the fighters' outfits can get damaged, and if the fighters themselves could bleed onto them as they take damage)

oh it also has loads of playable characters and some other stuff.

So, what you want is the latest Mortal Kombat game then.

well, not really, because that's a mortal combat game. I have heard good things about it, but not really a franchise I've ever liked.

It's lots of fun though.
