Hi.
I’ve just received word that Ascendant Comics will be publishing my comic series The Destineer!
This a very happy occasion for me as this story, maybe more than anything I’ve written before, is very personal. It’s not because I live in the same world as the protagonist or even that I’m that much like him, it’s because in a way, this is about the drive to do something that’s not entirely logical. You see, I was studying at the university on my way to a well paid job, but something inside me just wasn’t right. More and more I was realizing that this wasn’t what I wanted with my life, even though the job at the end of it was good and interesting. Something inside me just screamed and I knew I had to focus my energy on writing. It’s that feeling, along with several others that I try to portray in this series.
The plot is as follows:
Zon Quyosh lives in a world where mankind was indeed created by a divine entity, only this entity is digital and its name is The Deigital. Under The Deigital’s supervision, mankind is taken care of and all physical needs are tended to. The Deigital even grants life eternal by becoming a part of itself upon ones death, so long as you just followed simple rules of no major consequence. It’s a good deal, yet something inside Zon leads him astray. For reasons he doesn’t fully understand he is drawn from the light, to the darkness that is The Destineer, an ancient, evil half-machine. With it, Zon strikes a deal that puts him on the path to discover the reason behind the creation of man, The Deigital and The Destineer.
While this is enough reason to write this post, there is another reason: I’m looking for an artist to work on this that’s as passionate about their craft as me. Somebody who wants to tell a story that’s about a universe that doesn’t exist, but at the same time feels like something we all somehow know. The style of the universe is both a heaven held in a renaissance Florence feel, mixed up with high tech machinery and robots, but also bleak, dark and rusty, scrap heap, high tech half-machines.
To the artist that ends up doing it, there is a bit of money up front as well as a percentage of the sales, and you will also get published.
Whether you’re an artist or not, thank you for reading this. I hope this is something you can relate to, and I hope to have sparked your interest in one way or another

Yeah. We'll have to get the internet version of a water cooler and talk about TV shows we watched the night while standing beside it.
