I am also fond of the Bastard. I see big things in his future. I don't know if I'm way off base on this but

I haven't read the books yet so I don't know what mysteries may be revealed in the future but;

One of the points raised by the show more than once is that there is no "rightful heir" to the kingdom.

As the story stands so far, Dany is the last rightful heir of the Mad King, but she's come to realise how little that means.

The throne belongs to the person who can take it and then keep it. Their heirs are not guaranteed a long reign, or even any reign at all.

Yup. Empire just did a long podcast interview with him about it: http://www.empireonl...y.asp?NID=34164

The The National song in this episode was awesome.

Many other awesome things, among them - as others have mentioned - Bron, Tyrion and Stannis. I almost feel bad for Stannis, apart from being in the thrall of a sinister religious-magical cult, he is such a straight-forward, honest, brave man. He actually might have made a good (if somewhat harsh) king - certainly a better one than the Lannisters. Either way, it was nice to not really have a stake in this battle; if there'd been Starks involved, I might've had a heart attack. With the Lannisters and Stannis, I don't really mind anyone dying, excepting only Tyrion (and Bron, a bit).

Like others, I would've liked to see what'd have happened to Cersei if she'd killed her son.

I was surprised that Sansa didn't take The Hound's offer. I loved how their relationship was developed over the course of both seasons, but there is no point to it yet - I thought it'd lead up to this, them being on the road together sort of equivalent to Jamie and whatshername... it'll be interesting to see how and when and in which role The Hound will re-appear, now.

That may be something that's developed more in the books? Instead of an industrial revolution Westeros is about to undergo a magical revolution.

People have got used to doing things a particular way and now the world is changing at quite a fundamental level.

It was pretty epic, especially the final scene, which delivered beyond anything I pictured when reading the book. Not sure I liked how Xaro and Doreah were handled, though.

That really was epic, I grew to like Dany considerably more than I had up to now, Varys too, he seemed more genuine in this episodes than before. Jakin continues to be awesome (and btw, Braavos sounds like the awesomest country in the whole series by a longshot), and everything looks like #### for everyone because anyone with half an idea what's going on is either cut off from doing anything about it or engaged in personal tomfoolery.

Also, this might have been a book thing, but at this point not much of a spoiler, but why couldn't Bran have joined up with the Northern soldiers sent to retake Winterfel? Where did they go?

Loved the episode but was slightly confused by two bits.

They said there were supposed to be 500 men outside Winterfell, where did they go?

Where were Stannis and his Mrs?

I assumed given the decor that they had gotten back to his castle, although that did happen rather quickly.

My guess is, back to fight the Lanisters, with Theon as their prisoner.

Winterfell was a burned out shell and, as far as they knew, everyone had been killed by the Iron Islanders before they went back home.

Personally, I would've expected them to leave a hundred men there perhaps, but its not my call. :)

That's where she was left so it has to be, and maybe the wind was strong on the way back?

It keeps us updated with Stannis, shows he's not out of the running yet

I think the bit I didn't quite get is Robb offered them free passage back to the Iron Islands apart from Theon. So I though Finchy and gang were tying him to hand over and head home. Killing everyone and wrecking the joint though seems a bit much to still have those terms attached.

I'm sure it'll be explained in more detail in the next episode it's just I'll have to wait a year for it. Posted Image

I liked the finale a lot, I'm surprised Tywin turned on Tyrion so much and so quickly, but it does reinforce how both of them see each other and the world around them.

Tywin should've handled it more politically. Tyrion has another debt to collect from him when the time comes.

I enjoyed Jamie's reaction to finally seeing Brienne fight. :D

The stuff beyond the wall, well I think the White Walker saw Sam, but perhaps not?

Well, he definitely saw him, but maybe their vision works differently, or they have unique standards, because he clearly didn't care, and perhaps didn't actually notice (but I think his expression indicated that he did acknowledge his presence).

Yeah I got the somewhat scary feeling he saw him and considered him insignificant.

Which made no sense to me, they're building an army of wights, another zombie is always going to be welcome, surely?
