I wonder where all those other "stars" are outside the disc. Are those other galaxies, or are they loose stars in the voids? or are they just stars in the Milky Way that are in the frame?

This pretty much blows my mind - our nearest neighbouring galaxy, Andromeda, a mere 2.5 million light years away. This was taken by the telescope on board the Galaxy Evolution Explorer satellite:
It's a like a Spot the Ball picture for alien civilisations.

Also... world's ugliest house. It's a proper abomination, and as Elvis proved, being rich doesn't mean you have good taste.

Which of course begs the question what is the worlds prettiest house.
The most famous pretty buildings are often religious buildings like churches or temples, so I'm wondering what the prettiest buildings with a purely residential function are...of course a lot of those would probably be palaces, places of residence for heads of state.
Maybe the Casa batllo in Barcelona, but it reminds me a little of a smurf house:

This is why being famous can suck.

The interior shots definitely look nicer than the outside, which is a bit of a mess.

At 14 foot, Ram Singh Chauhan has the world's longest mustache (AFP/Getty)Ram Singh Chauhan of India has the world's longest mustache, 14 feet, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.Chauhan had received attention long before entering the world record books. According to the London Telegraph, his famous facial hair was featured in the 1983 James Bond film "Octopussy" and he has made cameos in several Bollywood films.
And the 54-year-old has offered some grooming tips to the BBC for anyone interested in sporting some unusually long facial hair.
For starters, he says start growing your facial hair at an early age because a decrease in hormone production in later years will inhibit its growth. His second major tip is to regularly groom your facial hair.
Chauhan tells the BBC he uses coconut oil on his mustache and enlists help in the maintenance process. "I massage it and oil it regularly and I wash it every 10 days which takes a long time," he said. "My wife helps me."
Beyond that, Chauhan says be prepared to endure criticism and to avoid fashion trends for or against facial hair in popular culture.
If you'd like to give Chauhan a run for his money, there's still time. The 2012 World Beard & Mustache Championships will be held in Las Vegas later in November. A similar competition, the 2012 International Beard and Mustache Championships was held in April. Competitors took part in 18 different competitions, with the prize in the Full Beard Freestyle category going to German-born Arner Bielefeldt.

I, too, have a moustache. I wash it every day, sometimes several times a day, which takes but a short time. No point to that, but neither is there a point to a fourteen-foot soup strainer.
