I was getting nice and sleepy, but the mrs. and I had a bit of an argument. Wide awake and regretful now.

I blame last night's so-called super-moon. I've had trouble sleeping when it's a full moon in the past, so when it gets all "super" I probably have no chance.

So I'm taking health supplements, one of which has 5HTP in it, and, umm ... I get all buzzed for a while, and then I get real low ...

time to ween myself off?

My wife has been out of town for two days and it's incredible how far I've devolved into becoming a depraved, lonely, bored, smelly, uncouth caveman in so short a time. Thank goodness she was able to iron so many bad habits out of me when I was in my 20s. Otherwise I'd likely be single for life.

That depends, is there a specific reason why you have to take it?

Look at the net effect. If you take it to get into the state of "beign all buzzed", then I'd say it might be best to stop taking it.

There's a dog barking outside that according to the sound volume of his barking must be Fenris sized.

I'm taking it to help with my memory and concentration, and, if I'm honest, to bolster my mood. I'm having problems with my mood. Not sure if the supplement is helping or hurting.

I think it sounds serious enough to discuss it with your GP rather than self medicating. According to the wikipedia page the effects of 5HTP are not really thoroughly studied yet.

Yeah, it doesn't sound like something you should just take... I don't know, Tim, there's usually a reason for bad moods so it might be better to deal with that.

I didn't mind doing the dishes until we had a kid. Now all of a sudden my workload increased by 50% and my salary stayed the same!
