Russell's casting gets my endorsement. That would be pretty damn good.

Thanos is for Avengers 2 as the dude at the end suggests Earth would be a worthy foe. He will however show up in Thor - they moved the cosmic cube there for a reason.

I expect him to kick all forms of ass in Asguard in order to make him the big bad impossible foe (rather than a puny God and a bunch of cannon fodder).

Beercules as Hercules? I'm down with that.

Who can Neil Patrick Harris be in the Marvel U? Him and Alyson Hannigan as Pietro and Wanda? (I don't even know who the dude who plays Ted is, and can't be bothered to look it up. He's just Ted.)

edit: also, Simon Pegg still needs to be a Marvel character...although...technically, isn't Ethan Hunt a Marvel character, leading there to be one of the multitude of Marvel Multiverses where Pegg's Mission Impossible character actually is in existance?

I hope Zemo isn't the villain in Cap 2. I want to see the fish out of water storyline with Winter Soldier messing with Cap's head throughout, and also with random acts of domestic terrorism (a la Dark Knight).

I'm surprised I haven't seen much talk about the "Civil War" seeds planted at the end of Avengers, with the news showing footage of a man complaining about all the damage being done and that someone must be responsible. That could be an interesting way to sow more seeds of discontent during Avengers 2 and then go full out Avengers rebellion in A3.

What now Marvel??? Keep the momentum going and put some of that hard earned money to good use. Follow your position of being the first studio to make an ensemble movie of this type in the comic universe and make a videogame that will be the first licensed property to be a AAA title. Pour $100mil into a decent developer (forget THQ and SEGA) and make a Mass Effect style adventure game. IT cant miss as itll have a massive in scale story, it can go cosmic, and it'll basically be an interactive comic. Another Nerdgasm waiting to happen.

I've been wanting an awesome RPG about superheroes in that vein for years. I won't hold my breath, but I really want it to happen someday.

If Ant Man is a go I bet the Hulk is shoehorned in there somehow . . . "see your most favourite character in the Avengers move? well see him here slumming it with this b-lister . . . " to get bums on seats . . .

Thanos needs to show up in all the next round of movies. He needs to be behind Extremis and also the enemies in Cap 2 (HYDRA?) and Hulk 3 (who cares, Hulk smash), using them to locate the last Infinity Gem - if you look at the Gauntlet prop, it only has five of the six Gems on it. In Thor 2, he personally assaults Asgard to steal the Gauntlet itself. To explain why the Avengers are not working as a team, all these events occur at the same time. We go into Avengers 2 with Thanos having an army of HYDRA troops including some Extremis enhanciles, and knowing the location of the last Gem that will make him omnipotent. That's when the gang gets back together to stop Thanos gaining that Gem and destroying the Earth.

Not disputing that just that the buzz about the scene was very different when comparing 10 Millarworld geeks on a trip to the cinema and the people I work with, most of whom were a bit disappointed in it because it was so vague and weren't that bothered about rushing to the net to google to find out who it was.

How did that compare with their reaction to seeing a random piece of ironmongery in a desert at the end of Iron Man 2?

That's basically how I was envisioning it too, right down to all of the individual character movies taking place at the same time to explain why they aren't teaming up.
