I've tried many different shavers/razors over the years. Both electric and manual, but I always go back to Gillette Mach 3 (using the Turbo model at the moment)

I use the Mach 3 too. I tried the vibrating one but it's just a bit silly.

I'm a man of simple tastes:

I only shave every two or three days, unless I have a meeting, so these do me fine. No need for shaving foam - it's a con.

I always moisturise afterwards though:

Gillette Mach 3 man myself.

Skin sensitivity is an issue for us men of African ascent, so I get bumpy and irritated like a motherfucker if I don't use the foam. I NEED it.

Aftershave? Not so much. The standard-fare alcohol based ones did my skin more harm than good, I used nothing but water through my 20's. My skin is a little drier now so I use this as aftershave and general body lotion:

I have to be careful with disposable razors as I'm often allergic to those balm strips that are stuck above the blades. I've settled with using Bic 3 blade disposables. Pretty cheap (I buy in bulk from Savers every few months) and they don't irritate.

Steve's right, shaving foam is a con. I just use water.

I think my skin would end up looking like the red gravel they use in tennis courts if I'd shave without foam.

I shave with Gilette razors, don't know which one...it has 3 blades.

I've got a Gillette Fusion Power Stealth (Which is, as Bill Bailey observed, just a collection of blokey words).

I use Nuage shaving oil (cheaper and better than King of Shaves)

Instead of shaving foam/gel, I use a cheap Tesco own-brand hair conditioner, works much better.

I used to shave my head in the shower, just using shaving oil. This works much better.

Oh, and cheap Tesco body lotion instead of a fancy post-shaving gel or whatever.

I shave once every six weeks or so. I'm really fucking lazy when it comes to self grooming. If I'm having a wet shave I'll use my Gillete Mach 3 (?) which I was sent free in the post about 12 years ago. Recently I've just started using the electric head shaver I use to cut my hair to do my face - just take the guard off and o with it. Doesn't shave as close as a wet shave but I don't mind having a bit of a shadow.

I tried using those once. Cut my face to ribbons. Never again!

I just use an electric shaver. Because (1) I'm very lazy and shaving feels like a waste of time (2) I don't trust myself with sharp objects. I've even managed to cut myself with my electric razor, so I shouldn't be allowed to put anything sharp against my face.

I've tried alot of different razors. I was never a fan of the replace head razors as the replacements seemed to be pretty expensive. These are a pretty good disposable razor. I can normally get about 4-5 shaves out of one before it starts to blunt.

Posted Image

Tried a bunch of creams and gels too, but settled on this one. The foam isn't too thick and it doesn't sting. Just water shaving only works if you're shaving regularly - these days I only shave every 2-3 days so I need to shower first to soften the hairs and then use the gel to keep things smooth.

My dad has used a shave brush all his life - his is a badger hair one that he's owned for over 40 years. When I started shaving I thought that's what you used. Finding the gel in a can was a great timesaver as the brush is a pain in the backside to use.
