Dark Demon man indeed!
I’ve got to agree with what most people have said, the trailers aren’t really doing that much for me… With the Dark Knight I couldn’t hold myself back and just had to see it! But that was probably the Joker effect. However I remember when I saw the Avengers trailer, that didn’t do a lot for me either, and look how the movie turned out
I know I'm something of a Nolan "hater" on this board, so grain of salt, grain of salt, but I don't think WB did itself any favors showing the Batman trailer before Avengers. Not that the trailers are bad (although I liked the last batch more than the current batch), but they're not really any fun, and The Avengers is if nothing else FUN. I don't think you leave the Avengers chomping at the bit to see a grim, monochromatic, ultraserious superhero flick next.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. It's not like TDKR was due out the week after Avengers. We're talking 2 1/2 months between the releases. Putting the trailer with The Avengers really just was to remind people it was coming in the near future. The marketing blitz for the movie still hasn't started yet. And sure The Avengers might not have had people clamoring to see a grim superhero flick right away, but I can't see how having your trailer attached to the biggest movie of the year is a bad thing.

Well, the wing-like cape helps, when he gets it up (and no, that's not more innuendo).Honestly, though, if the Batman didn't tell people he was trying to look like a bat would they really assume it? I mean, Dark Demon Man would be my first impression.
But the bat-symbol is maybe going a bit far. I mean, real bats don't fly around with a picture of a bat on their chest, do they?
I don't think that's a particularly controversial viewpoint. At the risk of being controversial, I tend to think it couldn't be worse than Miller's own subsequent The Dark Knight Strikes Back in print...
Like Steve says, though, the book has it's defenders (and I'm one of them).

You should get a photo of yourself with it, and share it via some kind of social networking site. I can't think which particular one might be the most apt, though.I think Monday I might go see The Tumbler. They are having some promo tour for TDKR. You can take a picture next to the Tumbler. It is free so why not try to check it out.

Dark Knight Rises titles in the style of Se7en. By a student! Not bad, although misses the point of university. He should be blind drunk, not doing stuff.

I'm kind of tempted to go to a midnight showing of Rises though.

Man, that's way too much of a bum-number. By the time it got round to the new film, I'd be crawling the walls.
When Star Trek: Generations came out, I went to a marathon of all the Trek films ending with Generations. By the time Generations came on, I was so exhausted that I couldn't really take it in. I assumed the reason it seemed so crap was because of my mental state at the time.
Then I saw it again and realised that wasn't the reason

Where's JG Levitt's shot?

Hah! Very nice. However, Gordon could shoot him and take the umbrella.
Where's JG Levitt's shot?
Yeah him and Marion Cotillard's parts in the movie might be small...or they're trying to keep something secret.
I still hope Levitt is Dick Grayson.
