Hadn't heard of it. It's such a corny title...like "Evil Man Kill!" or "Hot Girls on Parade" or something.

The book was pretty much World War Z only with robots instead of zombies.

There was a bit more of a plot than World War Z, but they both have the stories from around the world thing. I definitely enjoyed it, and wish the movie hadn't been pushed back.

I'm actually looking forward to this one. Great cast, and I love that Hooper had them singing live and recorded their vocals that way. Hopefully it turns out nicely.

I'm even more interested in this now that I know what the actual plot is.
That looks amazing.

Wow yeah that is nice.
Of course the truth is worse, it's not Cthulhu who's trying to poison and dumbify us, we're doing that ourselves.

Branded looks damned weird and worth checking out. Of course, I'm sure the movie would be much shorter if everyone just put opn the damned glasses...

Which is funny because a remake of They Live is also in the works.

Speaking of Branded, what was that name of that weird movie that I meant to keep an eye out for? With the two, uh, I want to say time-travelling or something guys fighting some kind of Cthulhu-like invasion of reality? Sort of like Naked Lunch as a sci-fi action comedy?

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are in talks to direct Carter Beats The Devil: http://www.empireonl...y.asp?NID=34171
Not the obvious choice, but I've been a fan of their's going back as far as Clone High.

I'm not sure but that sounds a little like John Dies at the End.

Last I had heard, couple of months ago now I think, it was being directed by Matt Reeves and was going to be closer to the original short story than Carpenter's film.

Interesting. Matt Reeves would not be by first choice for yet another remake, but it could be good.
I never read the story it was based on, but I did think that it would've been interesting if instead of making it clearly an alien invasion, you never really knew for sure if the lead character had cracked up and was now imagining everything.
I mean, essentially, today, it would be easy to imagine a guy reading all this Icke reptillian nonsense and then blaming aliens for everything going wrong in his life.
At the same time, even if he is paranoid, that doesn't mean they aren't out to get him.
